For those wanting to continue from here in the manga
In volumes, it's Volume 11, which contains 82-29.
Technically, 82 would recap the last few minutes of the episode, so you can start at 83.
~~~They went for one last banger for this episode! That was very cool. But what a weird point to end it on... Except if they already have a sequel lined up?
MY GOAT!
The lineup in this episode was madness.
He will have his own card one day :)
She really gave her all. Ending it JUST when Kafka came in is EVIL :(
I have to say the show grew on me way more during season 2, for me it was an overall improvement over S1.
Now after ending it here... Will there be more?~~~
"Everything is going to be alright ma'am, I have trading cards."
I came here to check if it was end of season and it ACTUALLY is ....... it really felt like end of episode. Are they ragebaiting us to read manga or what !!!
is it just me or the animation of this episode was better than the rest of s2?
Don't know, to me it looked solid all from start to finish.
So, I read the manga after the episode yesterday. No spoilers, but as much as I hate to say it, this was kinda unavoidable with a single season. The manga is just structured weird. No matter where they stopped after one season, it would have been disappointing.
HOWEVER, they could have planned for 24-27 episodes. The first season was a hit and their biggest since AoT ended, they seemed to have some money, at least enough to license an Aurora and OneRepublic songs for the op and ed, AND most importantly, Production I.G. does not have any serious work planned for next year. Except a new shitass ghost in the shell adaption. So they're either going bankrupt or they're having some internal issues and losing talent.
what a horrible fucking way to end a season. people who are gonna watch this when its not airing are gonna win 10x more by the time s3 is out. completely ruined the show for me and this season wasnt even that good to begin with. i dont know if its the pacing or story that got me really irritated in this season but i can see now that it really is not that great of a show. went from like 8/10 to a straight 4/10. just sleep until next season ig
should it be called Kaiju nº. 6. It's so mid lol
stupidest season ending.
Am I the only one that didn't really like the re-design of Mina's giant railgun? It looked much better in the manga imo.
It was an okay season overall. I really wish they had put more into the sound design, since the few fights given to us lacked punch imo.
i want s3 fast asf
This show continues to be in a really weird place. There's a lot of worldbuilding that feels cool but a lot of the episodes are just so nothing. It feels like the show would've been a lot better off without kaiju no 8 existing honestly. It seems to care equally as much about the other focal characters and it doesn't really seem too interested it having him do things anyways. It's also been said before but it is really remarkable how little the show uses kafka being an emotionally mature adult in a highly organized army instead of a typical shounen protagonist.
Also bad cliffhanger I guess. Someone else said the plan is to sell a finale movie off of this which probably explains it.
Is season 2 is end ??? ?
This series started as a rare journey of a middle-aged man chasing his dream.
But now all that remains is some kind of propaganda message to join Japanese military and become just like them, righteous heroes, sacrificing themselves to protect the weak.
The battles are fun tho
If there is no 3rd season this will get a 1 point rating for this cliffhanger. Only really odd and unnecessary animes are getting this bad of a rating, even slop gets a 3 or 4.
