It does not look like an end of season but more like the end of an episode ... I'm disappointed at how the show prepares everything for nothing at all ...
I would have preferred an end of season as Ep10 made

  It wasn't boring, it sets up a challenging situation for the sequel and it makes me want to see what will happen next. It would be a bad way to end the show, but I imagine there's a third season on it's way. So I don't see anything wrong with this episode.

Funny that you mentioned literature, as many famous novels were originally published serially, in magazines or newspapers, with episodes often ending on cliffhangers to keep readers coming back. This was a very popular publishing format in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and it played a major role in the rise of modern popular fiction.

Novels like The Count of Monte Cristo (1844–1846), The Three Musketeers (1844), Oliver Twist (1837–39) or Great Expectations (1860–61).

"The Count of Monte Cristo was originally published in the Journal des Débats in eighteen parts. Serialization ran from 28 August 1844 to 15 January 1846." - basically once a month
The Three Musketeers (1844): March–July 1844 (serialised), July 1844 (book form).
Oliver Twist (1837–39): The novel was first published in monthly instalments, from February 1837 to April 1839, in the magazine Bentley's Miscellany.
So what you're saying we should expect the continuation of Kaiju 8 next month?

  Probably not next month month, but I don't see how this is so different.
  You had to wait more than a year to discover the conclusion of some of those amazing books.
  I don't see why there should be some rule prohibiting a story arc to spread over two seasons instead of one.
  The Lord of the Ring wasn't serialized, but was published in different parts, over a year.
  Dune was published over more than 10 years...
  That didn't prevent people from enjoying them.

You cannot get into all this and end before anything even happens LOL and no announcement of anything yet??? like come on man at least have a movie / S3 announcement prepared to help with the weird way of ending a whole season

11 episodes is already not that much but if they end their season like that ... I would have preferred to wait 2 more years for a 24 episode season

  there isn't even really enough content for another 12 eps, the reason it end here is because there's about maybe 6-ish eps worth of content left in the series so they're almost def making a movie finale
  and to be clear, YES there's like 40-50 chapters left of stuff but ALL of it is fighting and a decent amount of that stuff wouldn't last long animated

    yeah i would tamper expectations for the ending unless they expand on it, but yeah there's about a lengthy movie left, maybe like an 8 ep season max, again there's like almost 50 chapters left but it's ALL one massive fight that started this episode so some of those chapters will only equate to like a minute of animation

  I think there's a huge contrast there. Solo gives you constant action with very little down time in between. We're constantly seeing the MC kick ass.
  The reason it fails here is because we've hardly seen No. 8 fight, and everything has been focused on the other characters with Kafka running in the background.

    Yeah and add to that that SL's cliffhangers are in between episodes so just a weeks wait to continue vs having the season end on that, weird move considering the manga is complete so there is no reason to slow the release unless they are burned out and needed time to hold up animation quality as it feels like this season got a slight but noticable drop in animation quality

My Guess would be a final Movie to have an theatrical Conclusion of the Series. I am waiting for some kind of announcement.

I do think they will line up something quite fast, given the way they are sequencing the story. This indeed feels way more like the end of the first half of a season. I can't imagine they would leave us waiting with this if they didn't have something almost ready.

Amazing finale! Can’t help but feel like the defense force has to rotate the Kaijus they are fighting in order to have a chance against them. With that cliff hanger, season 3 is gonna start off so strong!

All that buildup, the anticipation right at the end, waiting for Kafka to swoop in and save the day... just to exit full screen and see the notification asking if I wanna mark the season as complete. What a huge let down.

im sorry but this show has so much potential but fails to reach them. its a good show that can be great. we see more of Kaiju No 8 in the OP and EP than we do in any episode.

it's a little weird, you'd have to start around 75-ish which is the start of the battle arc, they rearrange things a tiny bit so you may miss some stuff otherwise

Weird way to end a season. They should have ended the season 2 episodes ago instead of putting this cliffhanger at the most important juncture of the story. I think overall this season was good. We got some major plot and character developments. I really enjoyed Hoshi Night Nippon very much and I think the most underrated part of this anime is the sound & music. The OP, EP, background scores, & effects were top notch. Some of the best, I've seen in an anime. I can't wait for the next season to see how this major fights end and I hope it is not too far away.

Not even one fight finished, lol. Ended exactly as expected, I will tell everybody not to watch S2 fully, end at episode 9 / 10 or wait for the next season to arrive.

Ending the season like that, without even an announcement for a Winter follow-up, just reeks of poor planning, likely somewhere higher up...

I wouldn't be so pissed if I didn't seriously love the series, which makes it even worse ☹️
