  Uh. Idk what episode 8 entails, since I didn't watch the anime, but I'll assume you're on the exam after the sports festival.

  If so, volume 6 chapter 2 would be where the anime is at right now.

      Yes.
      Chapter 1 of every volume is always the soliloquy of a character.

      Basically, them talking about themselves.
      For volume 6, iirc, it was Kushida's
      Then it goes to the main story right after.
