Yeah, vol 7 is damn good, but if 12 episodes like last season, then it'd be quite rushed. 24 Episodes would be wonderful though and would also mean that it could end at that Volume. Though there is also the problem, that a lot of information was left out in the first season, so maybe some anime original stuff or a recap?

  s2 maybe to end of vol 5 (inc 4.5)
  because then we could get a s3 to the end of 7.5 which would be a good place to adapt

The anime will probably have 12 episodes and thus I hope it will end up adapting Volume 4, 4.5 and 5 like you said. If they do adapt more than 3 volumes in 12 episodes then they are gonna fuck it up. And please let them adapt Ayanokouji's monologues properly

I don't really see a 24 episode sequel coming at all tho, but who knows

If they adapt Ayanokouji's monologue properly, then adapting Volume 4 and 5 within 12 Episodes doesn't seem unlikely. I know there is also Volume 4.5, but I think it'd max take up a few episodes.
So yeah, it seems plausible. I think a 24 episode might be plausible considering that it is doing well in Japan, but it might also just be 12 episodes to see how the Japanese audience will react.

despite its unlikely, honestly hoping theyll decide to restart the adaption, maybe a longer start (24 eps or so), and then take their time and fix everything the messed up
then forward with the series from there

what i think is most likely to happen is probably vol 4 and 5 with a second cour of 6 and 7
maybe an ova or something of a couple episodes of 4.5 in between?

theres a few options of what they could do honestly, interested to see how theyll execute it

It is a continuation, so they won't go back, sadly. But perhaps some anime original content could help with fill in the information, that was left out of season 1.
I am interested as well to see how they adapt it, as they have a lot of issues at their hand. Let's just hope that they do not rush it.

    Yeah. The end of Volume 4.5 gave me goosebumps, so kind of sad that they adapted those chapters in Season 1.

While I really do hope it has 24-25 eps adapted upto vol 7 cuz I really want to see the Ayanokouji fight scene animated, realistically they'll just probably adapt till vol 5 and see how it goes for now

Yeah, that will probably happen, considering how badly the Japenese audience received it. But if this season gets a good response, then there might be a possibility of another season.

idealy they would just redo everything in the best way possible and make this series as popular as it should be, but this is the anime industry we are talking about. mediocrity is to be expected so I think it is best to go in with mild expectations.

You're probably right. There are rumors that ENGI will adapt it. I don't think there are sources for it, but they'd likely do an awful job of adapting it. Same with Lerche.
I just hope they have learned from their mistake of Season 1, if they animate season 2.

  To be fair, Lerche as a studio did a pretty decent job adapting it. The problem was that the director shoe-horned Horikita into too many scenes. The actual production was pretty decent if I recall correctly

    It was not too bad apart from Episode 7 and 8.
    Classroom of The Elite is hard to adapt in anime format because of Ayanokouji's monologues. It was not a terrible adaptation. Though, they cut out many other characters' screentime.
    It did rush a lot of times, making moments more underwhelming. They cut out the suprise mock-test. The guidance room scene. They switched characters a lot of times. They lowered the number of students (Is relevant for the zodiac exam)
    I feel there is a bit of true to it, considering it was boycotted in Japan

    Yeah, the monologues were definitely difficult to adapt, but that is unfortunately a common thing when it comes to light novel adaptations. It really makes me wonder how good of an adaptation it could have received if things weren't changed and if the direction was better.
    I do hope that they find a way to explain the differences, because there a lot of important things changed. Makes me a bit worried how they'll adapt the sequel.

    Yeah, I think it is quite impossible to adapt the zodiac exam without having all the students. I hope they fix it with a recap or perhaps anime original content.

Likewise, but would be pretty hard, since they need to adapt Volume 4, 4.5, 5 and 6. And I don't think they'll do 24 Episodes, because of the boycott in Season 1. But we can be optimistic and hope for it.

    It only adapted 2 Chapters of Volume 4.5
    There was also the fortune-teller story, Katsuragi incident, and Water Bottle.
    I see, it would certainly be nice to see a 2 cour season.
    Edit: It also had Yamauchi's confession. Totally forgot it.

    Yeah, especially the water bottle. Sad that they adapted the pool chapter because it was quite funny when Ayanokouji forced Horikita to join them by using the water bottle incident.

Well, I'd consider a 12 episode anime cuz of the season 1 boycott, that'd be volume 4, the cruise ship arc would probably take 4 eps, sakura confession part would probably get half an episode from v4.5, rest ovas (if any), then sports festival v5, would be 1/2 episode introduction, and reducing the irrelevant parts (probably) 3 more episodes, that's 8, and last 4 for volume 6 or something like that
or they could do 15/16 eps and include vol 7 which would be really nice

I think Volume 4 will take longer to adapt than 4 episodes. Not sure about Volume 5, but they could cut some of the content there. I don't think they'd end it at Volume 6, since that's in the middle of Ryuuen's hunt. I think ending at Volume 5 would be far better or perhaps 24 Episodes, adapting until Volume 7, but unlikely given the boycott.

I think we’re all hoping to see volume 7 adapted, but it’s most likely going to be 12-13 episodes adapting volume 4-6(maybe including 4.5). Volume 7 in a movie format is also a really nice idea I’ve heard on discord and reddit. I’m also interested in what the new season is going to be called.

Adapting Volume 4-6 in 12-13 Episodes sounds rushed? Also, they need to fill people in on what was missing in Season 1.

Tbh I think they'll go until the end of the 6 and skip or go pretty fast over 4.5. With the last arc being the Paper Shuffle, they'll probably be able to (unfortunately) skip some slice of life moments. I hope they don't take out too much and that they don't make the same mistake of depicting Ayanokouji as an totally emotionless when Vol 6 contains some important bond building moments.

If its 1 cour then max it will touch vol6. We will all love it to include Vol7 and tbh it will be kind of awkward to start a season 3 with Vol7 being such a great part of the story, but its prob the way its going to go.

Now I just hope they quickly retcon a few of the changes from S1, it doesn't have to be a full remake of S1 just a flashback to align what happened more with what did happen in the LN

They'll probably (hopefully not) do what they did with the 1st year, make it 12 episodes and force the viewers to read the manga / light novel to boost the sales. Again hopefully that's not the case and it get splits into 2 cours of 24 episodes

I would probably bet Volumes 4 and 5 and maybe some of 6? I’m confused on what they gonna do after they animate Vol 4 because they already animated Vol 4.5

Only adapted 2 chapters from Volume 4.5, so they could adapt the other chapters. There is also the problem with Episode 8. They straight-up adapted the scene, where Yosuke invited Kiyotaka to lunch and a few other scenes. And I feel like those scenes are needed when they adapt Volume 4.
12 Episodes adapting 4 and 5 would be nice, but that's hoping for a faithful adaptation.

    Yeah, the race was pretty nice and it will also be nice to see Nagumo. Volume 4 is superb. I hope they adapt it properly, especially "that scene," even though it will probably cause an outrage on twitter.
    Volume 4 is also pretty dialogue-heavy, so will take a decent amount of episodes to adapt it, I believe. That is, if they adapt it properly.

I do believe 4.5 can be ignored to a certain extent. if anything really needs to be adapted in 4.5, i think it would only be manabu and ayanokouji's conversation and katsuragi's part. And who knows, probably horikitas water bottle struggles for a sales pitch in terms of character?

i personally think it should end in either v5 or v7, because 6 might be akward stop, unless they really do want it to end with ryuuen closing the gap with x through a picture of kei, and then not having another news for like x number of years which is.... sad.

But if it ends on v6, then v7 in movie format copium.

For the volume 4.5 issue, I honestly think they can just adapt it like nothing happened in that filler episode in S1 lol. But even if they don't adapt that part, there are still plenty of material in vol 4.5 that they could adapt.

A double cour would be really nice but I'm fine with either way honestly. As long as they do that scene in Volume 4 properly, then I don't care whatever they do next lol.

I'm going to trust people when they say "the next few books are better" and "the anime wasn't faithful".

I just rewatched today and it's.. certainly something. It sets up lots of story hooks, almost never uses them, then just explains plots afterwards with basically no setbacks or obstacles. Literally just "all according to keikaku."
