A silent voice is better because it was more realistic and I understood the story more.I also like the characters and the plot better. The only thing that was good about Your Name was the animation, everything else didn’t make sense and the story line was so confusing that I had to watch a YouTube video explaining the movie, but I still couldn’t really understand.
I like Your Name a lot more. The themes and concepts explored are overall more compelling and better executed. I like the characters and their dynamics better. The visuals are as good. I might be an exception because, emotionally, I also connected more with Your Name. But, in all fairness to Naoko Yamada, a romance mixed with magical realism is a winning combination with me.
They're both good, but your name is overall better
both are movies that would've been better as a tv show slice of life series so that not only would ASV get to adapt the original manga story (which is much much better) and given YN to develop it's original story much better
I like Your Name more, with A Silent Voice, after watching the film I felt like something was missing.

Your Name is good yes but A Silent Voice is really, really better imao. Your Name had shallow characters and storyline. The only thing it did right was visuals and music. For everything else, I think A Silent Voice was better.

I have watched Your Name 3 times and I have watched A Silent Voice only 2 times, but I can safely say that I enjoyed A Silent Voice more than your name. A Silent Voice was a beautiful movie with good characters. It was emotional and portrayed a serious subject in a well mannered way.
I think what made Your Name so special were the visuals, but the characters were forgettable.

Your Name is way more better (in my opinion) .
I prefer Your Name for the simple reason of the first time I watched A Silent Voice, I watch the dub that makes the deaf girl sound like Dory from Finding Nemo trying to impersonate a whale.

Tbh they are different and shouldn't be compared but if I have to choose than I definitely love Silent Voice a lot more than your name, it touches upon realistic issues like bullying, Depression, being suicidal and characters have good development while your name only has good animation, characters are bland and very forgettable plus the romance really feels forced and people said it's so sad and all that but I absolutely felt nothing while watching this movie, I guess it's fine to watch it for time pass but nothing is really that great in it Also some people bash silent voice fans and say they only dislikes your name because they are a silent voice fan, I don't know about others but that's not true in my case because I watched your name first and watched silent voice way later.
Your Name hit me more, I was more invested in the characters and the story. However, you do need to pay attention as there is things that happen where if you miss them it feels like there is plot holes or something missing.
A Silent Voice was another that hit me a lot, it was easily relatable (I am not deaf but I understood the position Nishimiya was in). I also got invested in the characters to which I think were better than just a love story gone wrong, there was proper character building and huge visible differences in the characters from the start and the end.
In the end, both hit me hard but for me the love story wins (Your Name). I am not sure if it was the timing of when I watched it as the character development in A Silent Voice is something you can't ignore.

Your name its a RLLY good movie ,I love it.
A silent voice i get bored at the middle of the movie but the animation was sooo cool.
In conclusion I prefer Your name, it was kinda boring too but it was better than A silent voice however a silent voice was good too but no at the level of your name.
i think that a silent voice conveys emotions perfectly and is extremely relatable. however, your name is very enjoyable to watch but lacks in terms of depth. your name kinda reminds me of a ghibli movie in its enjoyability. a silent voice is almost made my kyoto animation aka the greatest anime studio on this planet earth which is kinda unfair

I think they're both technically perfect (animation, score, etc.) but both very lacking narratively. But I'll probably always prefer Your Name for the simple fact that I enjoyed it more; apart from parts of the first half and the ending, I couldn't really latch onto A Silent Voice.
Too easy - A Silent Voice.
The only thing Your Name has going for it in my opinion is the animation
and the plot-twist. Otherwise i formed no attachment to the characters
and to top it off it doesn't give away the messages that Koe no Katachi
does. It DOES have better songs, but at the end of the day, thats not what
makes a show memorable to me at the higher degree.
