It starts out great ngl. The world building and characters writing are top notch from the looks of it, and I am looking forward to more.

I already know that this is gonna be great, Bones was the only studio that should have picked up this manga. Just off looks alone, they're paying a lot of attention to detail to the backgrounds and character art. Which, by the way, I'm super happy to see more from Arakawa's distinct art style. We've only just been introduced to the world, but I'm already intrigued with the power system, and our main characters who "rule over Daemons." These fantasy that blend rural settings and mythology with modern technology are super hard to pull off, and it could go in any direction from here. But I have high hopes in the production quality, and the writing quality of Arakawa.

The moment I noticed they actually bothered to draw Gabby's eyebags, which many people forget about in fanarts, I knew the series was in good hands.

Am I the only one who feels wrong not having AKFG doing the OP for this? Thank god it's 2 cour (24 eps) confirmed though, there's still a chance.
That aside, what an opener. Arakawa's worldbuilding and premise are top notch as always. Next 6 months are going to be a blast, easy to tell already.

Very intriguing 1st episode. The dual world, the two Asa, the twins sundering day and night, the daemons...
Lots of stuff are thrown at us in 20 minutes but I trust Hiromu Arakawa to deliver B-)

Beautiful!!!! Maybe because the comparison is obligatory, but the beginning reminded me a bit of the atmosphere of Fullmetal Alchemist, when I saw those kerosene trails, but it seemed strange to me and in fact here comes the twist! There's a lot of pressure on her, considering who the author is, but I think it'll be an extraordinary series!

Another manga I read getting an anime as well. I haven't seen Fullmetal Alchemist, this is the only work from Hiromu Arakawa I have read/reading. But I've already remembered how insane the beginning of the manga was. Happy to see it still insane as ever. Looks visually great so far and the OP from Vaundy sounds pretty great as well. Can't wait for the next episode since we get to see Left and Right in action and Hana and Jin make their full debut next episode as well.

Good Enamel on them chompers as always lol.

Most likely going to be in the top 3 anime of this season for me along with Akane-Banashi and Marriage Toxin.

However....i have a minor qualm about the english translation (SubsPlease, Crunchyroll, and the dub) at circa 18 minutes & 55 seconds when Dera gives Yuru the necklace: Dera says プレゼント(present), and Yuru doesn't understand because it's an english loanword that wouldn't be known to a pre-industrial japanese peasant village. a detail not found in any of those three translations i checked..

What a shame to see linguistic worldbuilding overlooked in the localization! This sort of thing happens multiple times in the story so i wonder if the translators will skip over this language barrier aspect entirely. i hope not... R.I.P. to T/Ns

Welp, I just think there is nothing we can do about that, the language barrier sadly just exists, some word play or linguistic worldbuilding doesn't really work in most other languages, so they don't have much of a choice there

Well i am pretty disappointed with this first episode. I find the fast cuts disorienting. They try to only show 1-2 characters per shot and change the perspective any 2 seconds. In fights you can ever only see one Person like in one frame the arrow is shot and in the second one you only see the person shot never how the arrow flies. Idk it looks peak in Manga, but they just copied the frames from the manga 1/1 in fast speed and did not change it to be better suited for animation. Also this rainbow colour for the "bites" is also not my preferred solution. Well i will watch the next episodes because the story is peak, but idk. maybe i will just read the manga (have just read 2 volumes bc. i wanted to watch the Anime). And well i think everyone loves the anime and i am the only one disappointed xD.

So i just watched the latest episode of tensura and they also do the rapid cuts. I liked it. I noticed that many if not almost all Anime do it. It never bothered me before. So yes i know it is irrational, that i was disappointed. It is what it is :/. Just wanted to say sorry xD.

Ah yes, don't you hate it when your apparently sister kills your probably sister and now you have to run from the former. Anyway, ngl this was really interesting, I did not know this was by the same author as FMAB, that already raises my expectation by a lot, for better or worse, we'll see

Love these type of openers, starts out insane and already gets us to like the cast. Already got me intrigued, the animation was incredible too, hope it keeps up the quality.

Also, so many chainsawman type names lol: Asa, Yuru, Danji

I like it, I like it. It was intense, good pacing, the characters had little time to show themselves but still came up as interesting. I hope it keeps being this good.

Starting out with a devious one shot on the bird, that's tuff. Nice to see that our MC knows archery.

Why's his sister behind a wall? They're twins, but she doesn't look 16 at all. Like ik 16 looks different on everyone, but she looks like she's 12-13 y/o.

Ok, so there's a barrier and perhaps it's closed off like a remote village so they think airplane's gas is dragon gas.

Kinda poetic that Left and Right surely did come to protect Yuru.

So they are Daemons and highkey they remind me of Dark Shadow from MHA without Yuru being the actual host. Love their real forms.

Looks like the Fullmetal Alchemist author has another banger adaptation coming to fruition.

Warms my heart to see so many of you going "I had no idea this existed/there was a new thing from the author of FMA!". I've been a huge fan of the manga for a while and seeing new people get into it is nice (hell, even I only found out it existed like 2-3 years after it started! We get so much slop nowadays that "new series from the author of FMA" isn't front page news, eh?)

That aside, I love what I'm seeing - they're REALLY doing the source material justice. Great VA picks (even though I would've preferred someone like Subaru Kimura as Lord Right), great OST, very fluent animation and some very nifty ideas for scene transitions. A lot of subtle additions that I'm sure will make some scenes from the manga more impactful, too.

To address the elephant in the room as a Gabby Superfan Day One, the segment I was looking forward to the most was Gabby's debut, and it did NOT disappoint. I still can't get over the fact she's voiced by the same woman as Nina from Idolmaster, but I'm surprised how well she works for her. Gabriel having a voice was surprising, though - they do make little noises in the manga, but I was NOT expecting them to sound like a monstrous version of that one cat video meme from years ago of some kitty going "awawa" over butt scratches. Phenomenal idea, I love it so much. What they did with their eyes is so awesome, too. Kamen Rider Regad Omega's cameras spinning in his henshin sequence comes to mind - I swear it's the same effect.

My only complaint is, the "haha dragon farts :)" joke...they kinda beat you over the head with it. The manga was considerably more subtle about getting across that the villagers are convinced modern-day aircraft = dragons. But it's such a minor complaint that I'm not gonna hold it against the show.
