Here's some of the things you can expect to see us working on:

Sooo The MyAniList app will continue to function right? I know it’s not an official anilist app but it’s what me and many others have been using for so long. Very convenient please keep it going.
There are no plans to shut down the public API, so third-party apps will keep working
can you please make a feature where we can rank a whole show (not only not only the seasons that compose it - ex : season 1-3 of KonoSuba being on a section name the same as the show).
Because it would really help organize our anime lists.
Episode ranking would be good as well
I don't think episode ranking is good because some episodes can be awful by themselves but great in context, or vice-versa
The issue here is likely the same as the "series grouping" issues. There are lots of edgecases of things that are or aren't the same series being connected in ways that imply the inverse, or debate on if some things count as the same or different series, so they can't automatically group series.
Right now, you can have it so you only rate one entry in the series and have that represent the whole show. But I can understand why that might not be ideal.
I think the running idea for this kind of suggestion is to be able to give custom lists scores. So you can have custom lists for series with multiple entries and give a score to each list. Though that could run into issues with having too many custom lists...~
Will you make the website open source? It would be great and AniList can prolong even further unlike MAL.
And can you add a feature where you can compare each other's animes and manga like MAL?
It's planning, but as they said "first, we need rewrite this spaghetti code" years before. So just wait some time, like next years.
There were some plans in the past and I'm pretty sure it's still an item on the roadmap, but Nick has said that it won't happen anytime soon (maybe after a rewrite). Probably would only be parts of the site as the owners don't have a desire to maintain a large OSS project

There is already a compare list option, but it isn't especially useful right now.
One thing I would love to see as an avid light novel reader: Replace chapter count with volume count when toggling read counts on the front page for light novels. Likewise, allow users to see when users they follow have read volumes in a series.
A feature, where you can search for keywords in the following or global tab would be really nice.

No, it's not. We currently don't have any mobile apps
Can you add a filter on the basis of movie, OVA, ONA, Music, etc.? It will help a lot.
You can already filter by format, though? Both your list and on the Browse page

I have a suggestion: there should be a watch/ read order section separately for each anime and manga in the official release order, chronological order and recommended order especially for longer shows or shows with weird names for seasons like for a newbie what on earth is season √a lol
This site should really add the op and ending to the lists cause i repeated some songs more then 1000 time!
What is already on our roadmap is “Anime song data (OP/ED etc.)”, but I don't think we'll ever allow them to be added to lists since they're effectively just part of a bigger work. A section in the favorites for OPs/EDs, on the other hand, might be possible.
I would be cool if there was a live chat and a ranking system on how active you are on anilist and a little store you could add using ranking points to buy things, would be cool to see

If you're talking about countdowns/notifications for chapter releases, that is completely impossible to manage.
Contrast to anime, where there are 100 at most airing at any given time and they have consistent weekly releases, with delays usually being brought up quickly even for the most niche ones, there are thousands upon thousands of currently releasing manga, with all sorts of release schedules, way more delays and some don't even have any schedule to speak of.

Make a blank submission and explain in the notes why that tag should be removed. It's a bit unintuitive, sure, but there is a way.
I think a more direct tag report is planned but I'm not certain.

That and countdowns for new chapter releases are not possible since it would require us to keep track of the super inconsistent release schedules of thousands of manga. We don't have the resources for that

Disable/separate "Minimum Tag Percentage" in advanced search for excluded tags, it's annoying.
It would be nice if there was more variety in the anime key art, as anime series often have multiple versions. It would be great if these could be uploaded too, and if possible, allow each user to choose their favorite or have a voting system, similar to tags.
The same applies to character pictures (for example, manga/anime).
For both, spoilers should be hidden (as the first key arts are usually spoiler-free). Just a thought.

That would be because they either haven't been submitted, or are currently in the submissions queue waiting for verification.
You can submit works yourself, just check the submissions manual for how to do so~
I understand it's a database with certain limitations, but I hope the rules can change a little bit in the future to allow more content like Shadow Slave, Lord of the Mysteries, and The Beginning After The End(TBATE). It would also be great if the original source material for titles already listed like TBATE or Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint could be included as well.
We currently don't have any intentions to add them

Wow. I use it from mobile browser. Didn't know it was available for pc. So my request slightly changed i.e. make it available for mobile browser too.
Again, you can already do that on mobile. Click on the button with the little sliding bars and you'll get the filters.
You can also do this on your own profile lists by scrolling down to where it says "Format."

Under your animelist, click the 3-dot icon and scroll down to find the Search by Format option. While browsing, click the settings icon next to the search bar. Then, slide the pop-up menu, and you'll see the Search by Format option there as well.

for the 2nd, i mean that when i log an anime, you put it in watching/planning/dropped etc, and i just wished i could change the default "set as watching" type of stuff to a special font that i like... as what i do now is kinda tedious and i have to hide it from the status lists if that makes sense

Yeah, there are no plans to add manga release schedules.
Adjusting default lists seems like a very niche feature. I wouldn't say it's impossible that it will get added, but don't get your hopes up and don't expect it anytime soon
