frieren is easily one of the best animes this year. there is good consistency in quality and beautiful animation. it's the type of anime you would want to watch when you just want some relaxation. im not very good at bringing up points but if you're looking for an adventure anime with some good action and comedy then i would definitely suggest you try watching a couple eps and decide for yourself :)
also i haven't read the source material but i have heard it's a very faithful adaptation.

Just a quick question, did I miss anything? Everybody and all my friends are loving this Anime. But for me it does not click. It looks great, the soundtrack is awesome, and I like the feel the anime gives me. Is there something more to the story later on that could get me back on track? I just finished EP.4 and don't see the point.

I guess everybody sees something else in this anime. What grabbed me (in the manga) were the themes that it explores slowly which are mainly feelings and lifespan. As for the story, there's not much happening, it's just kinda is an adventure which aims to explore what I said earlier, while also granting some dope action scenes and interesting arcs.
for example there was this story of a demon that took interest in humans and tried to understand them and their feelings
