Just like I posted on my profile. Todays opening is crazy. There is so much details and metaphors pumped in... I'm in lack of words to describe it. It made me cry.

For these not catching what I'm talking about, for example:
Please pay atention to birds. Their colors, actions...

  Just assign these birds to corresponding girls. Blue bird at beginning shown in front of school is Roxy that suggested Rudeus to go to university. Red is Eris, shown at same time as Rudeus walks upstairs (you can think about this in few ways, for example "adulthood stairs") and Green that is changing to white is obviously Sylphy. There is so much details packed there. If you pay attention to what happens with each bird, even transformation moment of green bird... Well, damn.

This episode was art. Both opening and endings are both pieces of art, the opening is full of symbolism. The backgrounds, they did a really good job introducing us to Ranoa and the first encounter of Rudeus and Sylphiette in years, it was so cute.

  All of these symbols are related to everyhing that happened until now. Well there is some foreshadowing but it can be hard to decipher for someone who didn't read novel.

My love for the series is growing with each passing episode. Amazing introduction to the University and the (notable) students, stunning visuals, beautiful opening and ending. As an anime only I can't wait for what's to come in this arc.

What can I say...at least it wasn't Berserk 2016...except is was exactly like that (Episode 0)

I didn't read the LN...but this episode...just like most of them have weird pacing...it's like a speedrun...feels like 3 times more content is compressed into 1 single episode...and the animation is honestly embarrassing.

If "they" did that to """the best seinen""" (Berserk) why I expected them to not do the same for The Best Isekai.

It is harder to adapt to anime a LN compared to a manga...but...well...it is what it is...at least the LN is still there...

Waiting for the audio books to start being released starting with 28 Sep. 2023...

The thing with light-novel adaptaions is, that they usually tell one novel with three episodes with roughly 300 pages per volume you get around 100 pages per episode.I read the novels at a pace of around 50 pages per hour but the saying "show not tell" exists for a reason. I think the pacing issue comes mainly from the script writers wanting to reach certain plotpoints per episode more than than them giving not enough animation per volume. Animation wise, yeah it is a shame that they reuse assets, but for what the isekai animation landscape is, this anime is on pretty "high" ground.

Man I really loved the OP and ED, both were so beautiful honestly made me cry. Mushoku Tensei is pure art. This series just create some weird sort of nostalgia for me.

Oh God, every episode of this season is so damn good and it just keeps getting better!!! Apart from what has been said so far, I also wanna say that Reina Ueda has been absolutely brilliant in her role. There are so many details in her voice acting, I feel overwhelmed and amazed each time I hear it. I love how Mushoku Tensei never forgets Rudeus's past and how difficult it is to put it behind. While in his previous life, he had shut out everyone and rejected all hands stretched out to him, this time around, it is via the power of his connections with others that he manages to persevere. Like that time when Eris left him behind and this time when he was surrounded and falsely accused.

    I mean, she recommended the school to take in rudeus, by that its pointless to hide the fact that she had a connection with rudues.
    this doesnt make sense. I may not remember what EXACTLY is the fact that stopped her revealing herself but what could it be stopping her to that point? she just needs to say that shes sylphiette.
    on this ep, she asked rudeus why he got into the academy and he answered that hes looking for his childhood friend, it has been years to the point he got into the academy to research about the magic get a hint of her whereabouts.

It was same in Novel. Mushoku's novel have a lot of additional chapters in-between main story written from perspective of other peoples, stories of some other characters that happens at same time of main story etc. Tbh this is one of best parts of this Novel, it really adds to depth of story and a lot of details.

Interesting start to the academy arc, nice to see Rudeus and Sylphie reunite tho he doesn't know its actually Sylphie, hope he finds out soon. Can't wait to see whats gonna happen next

Wasn't expecting to see characters like Zanoba and Cliff again too

Gonna miss the old formula of Openings playing in the background as scenes from the anime played out. Thought it was unique and really liked it.

...even though the op and ed both have this oshino-shinobu-lookin'-ass girl who literally just didn't appear at all within the episode

and come to think of it the op also has long black hair girl and four armed demon guy from the montage at the end of last episode who likewise were just not here

Something I want to note about the opening is that the wine was spilled. I don't know if this is a throwback to when he was in bed with Eris, but that's the only other time the wine has spilled. This imagery could foreshadow that he could do it again, or it's just a dream, or it's just a throwback.

What I'm really confused about is who is that girl. She has longer hair and doesn't seem do have any elvish features (ears); so this really could just be a dream and a random "pure healing girl" that he envisions.

Had to watch this episode twice. And props to people catching all the symbolism in the opening credits.

What made this episode so satisfying for me was two fold: a sort of reward for the build up over the past few seasons, and the overall quality of this episode relative to the rest of this season so far.
On the first point, Rudeus has come a long way growing up, particularly mentally, and watching him apply the social skills he's learned over his journey was refreshing. I find the ED issue a clever device by the way. I find his overall demeanor and humbled/ grounded personality both likable and believable. Also, the dialogue and pace among all the characters here is much better than most of the anime I've watched in the fantasy-adventure/isekai genre. It's also a treat watching him flex his combat dominance. Last on the first point, reunions are always a treat, and I found the reunions this time were both tasteful and believable. I don't blame him for not recognizing certain people considering how much he's gone through and how much certain people change physically.

On the second point, the visuals, from opening to ending, had the same charm and appeal as previous seasons, and I appreciate the staff being able to pull it off here. The beginning of this season seemed a bit rough and lacking, but it's picked up since. I'm really hoping the quality can continue to impress. I'll be purchasing more Blurays and anything else to help secure the future season quality.

The OP girl is probably an ideal image of woman that Rudeus dreams of which contains all 3 main girls. There are many scenes that seem to indicate that:

This is a dream and we cannot see her face.
Throughout the intimate scene we see 3 colors that are associated with main girls: Green for Sylphie, Blue for Roxy and Red for Eris. The Red appeared the moment he tried to grasp her leading to his wake.
Over the course of episode this bird or multiple birds seem to showcase the impact that they made on Rudeus. Blue one is guiding him like a teacher (Roxy), Red one is watching over him climb but soon after flies away (Eris), Green one showing up when he was at his lowest and taking him out of misery and depression (Sylphie)
People pointed out how when you combined all 3 main colors they make white which is the color of the dream girl. The perfect embodiment of Rudeus image of a girl.
