I'm not a native english speaker, so there might be some mistakes here and there.

Since this is a Fate/ guide, it is impossible to make without pissing atleast some people off, so if you want to discuss feel free to do so, but please keep it civil and read my explanation first.

The purpose of this guide is to have everything related to Fate/ (Anime only™) in one singular place. That's why this is called a completionists guide. If you disagree with my Watchorder that's fine, in that case view this Thread more as an Overview for everything Fate/ has to offer(Anime only™) including OVAs, specials etc.

The watchorder is just a recommendation!!!

So, ok, a Fate/ guide. Honestly I did a guide like this once before but deleted it after some time for reasons I don't remember (Stupid, I know) I know this is much and not everybody wants to watch that many entrys of a single Franchise. So if you just want to chill and only watch the main parts, do it like this:

( ! = Main Fate Timeline. Only watch thoose if don't want to watch any Spin-Offs )

(OVAs are set in a spoiler box under the entry they are part of. Since the Spoiler box does not support these little Preview boxes, I had to use an basic link, just Copy the shown URL into a new Browser Tab and you will automatically see the Anilist entry)

( Sometimes 2 seaosns have one entry [For example Fate/Zero] because on the Streaming plattform of you choice, it may only be one, while on Anilist it's two seasons )

( There is a movie too, but the series looks better, and has the same/more Content, so the movie can definetly be skipped but in case you want to watch it anyway, I suggest watching it first and then before watching the actural series you should first watch Fate/zero, so you dont have the same story twice in a row, and after Fate/zero you get some extra details on Fate/UBW when watching the actual series)

( Carnival Phantasm is an anniversary Anime for Type-moon, the Fate/ creator with other franchises mixed in. It adds nothing to the lore and overall universe, just a good laugh, so you can totally skip this this now or watch it at a later point in time. This technically is also just an OVA, I just did not put it in a spoiler box, since it is an series on it's own, and has no specific parent Anime. This Guide for the most part is based on the Release Date of each Fate/ entry, but with some added twists here and there based on my own watching expierince, that I thought would add to the enjoyment of watching Fate/
There is no such a thing as a RIGHT or WRONG way to watch Fate/. This guide is based on my own suggestion on how to watch Fate/ in the most enjoyable way with the Goal to watch as much as possible.

Wow this is recent. Thanks for the guide by the way, I am sure I will come back to this again.
Now, I first have watched:

and some people advised me to read VN first, which is really good but takes some time.

So FSN, does spoil some things from the next series - UBW and HF (haven't seen it yet).
If you want to avoid spoilers, check an edited version made by someone on reddit, it lists which episodes and minutes to skip and so on. Looking back, it takes some fun from the next series, I would advise watch that version.
Now I will be watching UBW, really excited already (great animation).

By the way, why there so many other titles? Why did you put them before HF, just curious, since I was planning to watch HF after UBW.

I watched Fate/Zero first and am now watching Fate/Stay Night and oh gawd please don't do this to yourself! Zero is a great with great narrative and animation. Stay night on the other hand feels dumpster fire and I think I'll just watch the OVA movie and go forward to the other works.

Hopefully the other series are more like Zero and can pull through using narrative and good characters

(No offence to anyone who likes Fate/Stay Night, the characters feel just so off to me)

Release order:

- Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014) [By ufotable]
- Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel (Movie trilogy by ufotable)
Chronological Order:
Fate/Zero
(after then you're free to watch fate/stay night in whatever order you want)
but in my opinion this would be the best way to enjoy it
- Fate/Stay Night (2006) [OPTIONAL]
- Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2014) [Series by ufotable]
- Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel (Movie trilogy by ufotable)
Personal Recommendation - Release Order
After you've finished the main 4 series you're free to watch the side stories however you want

Also The CD-Drama For Garden Of Avalon because recounts the events of the Arthurian myth through various characters. in case you would like to know

I don't think it's necessary to watch the Fate route since it spoils some stuff about UBW and that'd ruin the enjoyment of it. Plus, it's not really good either and you won't miss out on anything imo.
