[Spoilers] Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina - Episode 9 Discussion

That was just super dark..... Just tragic. I like it but man.... That was some stuff there.

WHAT I LIKE THE MOST IS HOW PREDICTABLE IT IS YET THEY DELIVERED IT SO WELL LIKE I KNOW THAT'S GONNA HAPPEN BUT THE VOICE ACTING YOU REALLY CAN FEEL THE TRAGEDY AND HOW ELAINA AFFECTED BY IT JUST MHHHHHHH BEAUTY

I kinda was getting the way the episode was going before the twist but holy shit thats grusome.
Like holy shit Elaina just went trough all that, and the other witch carries probably none of that trauma

Go back in time further and kill her parents.

But God damn, that was a dark episode. Pretty clear where it was going from the start tho.

Best episode by far. Was really not expecting the reasoning behind Selena going crazy. But as usual, when no op is involved you know the episode is gonna be heavy.

They did an excellent job with this story. I was worried they would rush this episode.The music was stellar.

Selena’s bloodied smile sent shivers down my spine.

It was unusual to see a different side of Elaina. She’s usually quite indifferent but in this story, she was quite emotional at the end.

This anime still has a PG-13 rating, according to MAL...

Damn even though the outcome was pretty predictable, the excellency came through the delivery. What an episode! Need some wholesome episode next week. Poor Elaina. It's a harsh reality check for her. It's sad to see someone who's normally calm and self confident break down like that.

Episode nine of the series, definitely was the best and I do not think I am speaking for just me here.
Most people were probably not expecting something like that from an anime like Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, I would hope to see more episodes like this.

My favorite scene in the episode would probably be when Elaina is talking to Selena and learning why she killed her parents, and finding out the fact that she was the one to kill them. I was kind of expecting that Selena was the one to kill her parents for some reason but I never really expected that the anime would do something like that.
I was definitely loving when Estelle was killing Selena, the friend she thought she knew.
I think she did a good thing by sacrificing her memories, I think if she did not she might be how Selena was.

I loved this episode better than any of the other episodes in the series, it comes close to perfect for my idles for a wonderful anime.

This was by far the best episode yet! The dark theme of the story and how Elaina realizes that she could not do anything to help Estelle and breaks down, just incredible stuff. Heavy and shocking, but still incredible imo.

I was sure I would give a 6 to this show, but WTF was this chapter? I wasn't expecting any of this. She was a slight anti-hero, but this wasn't in the show's soul. Totally unexpected. Temporarily raised the score, because I would recommend everybody to experience this "WTF" moment.

I guess I'm a minority in this one. The episode was great, but didn't impress me as much. It definitely use shock value as a mean to impress and that is actually cheap. It only worked because the directing is stellar, the music, animation, and art. The writing itself is just meh.
