He choose Yukino but why? She wasnt really interesting in him in a different than our carrot.
And for add there is too less scenes to grow their relationhips. Yuknio has got almost everyitng and there is a problem she doesn't have real freinds. But Her problem fixed right? She has got carrot (and not only her) so? In anime they are still showing like something is wrong. Hachiman is a useless character and he is making a walls yourself. Yeah I dont like romanses but there is some better like shigatsu wa kimi no uso, orange (even I dont like a moment when she is interesting in him becaus I prefer suwa (that isnt a spoiler)), Anohana. Oregairu is only a looking at a boring people life and heartbrakes. zero plot twist and really predictable. An idea about that club was good but we didn't got enough "problems" to fix. Characters don't develop and the story is left aside, so far. I forgot add something. Hachiman, carrot (yui probably I remember XD) and Yukino wants to be best friends forever but look at this situation. Could you be a friend with someone who stole your crush? And have fun? No or maybe Im different.
Apart from the carrot realization that he prefer Yukino
I can tell in easy way this is just a bad harem with some inside problems.

A show that goes deep into emotions.
It's not just a 'Harem', it is but it isn't, there is so much more to this show. To me, it opened a lot of emotion, mostly towards Hikigaya, since I kind of relate to some things happening with him and his way of thinking, Not noticing he's helping people by hurting himself.
Idk, I just love how deep the show goes, just my opinion thought lol.
It's fun when I was watching it during my early high school years. But looking back, some of the dialogue/monologue are pretty cringe ngl

I think this show is honestly a hit or miss. I think it appeals to many teenagers due to the relatableness of 8man and honestly it's pretty deep . If you don't vibe with the characters, I can see why one may find the show boring and whatnot, as it is a purely character-driven show. I love seeing Hachiman slowly grow as a person and come out of his shell and I like how the love between 8man, yui, and yukino blossoms at a very slow pace throughout the seasons (rather than some "love at first sight" bs). There is so much subtext as well that really makes you think and allows for some deep analysis. There is signifcant character development in 8man and some in Yukino, so I'm not sure what you mean about that.
I agree with your point about Yukino having everything she wants - I do not like her personality whatsoever. She acts extremely pretentious to everyone, comes from a wealthy background, and her biggest struggle was "being bullied because she was pretty." She is self-centered and selfish, like in szn 3 ep 4 where she tells 8man to back off because "she wanted to do it her self." Team yui ftw.

Most people don't get what oregairu is. Its not your typical Rom-Com. For god's sake its title says ' My teen romantic comedy : status nominal; all fucked up ' Maybe one must have at least gone through betrayal of some sort ( I'm not talking of high scales). The entirety of the show dwells in subtext rather than the text. The characters' expressions, behavior, their arguments on a matter are implied on the thin lines between conversations. Also most 15 year olds would not like this. For me its how much realistic I found the characters. Yes the situations are not realistic but the characters are. Oregairu is one of those anime which I read the source material for how many good quotes there are.
not everyone talks in subtext in the real world. also, if you try to communicate everything youre feeling (things you dont want to admit) through subtext, then in the real world, people are probably not going to pick up on it. idk i just feel like this show relies heavily on the subtext (and its as if hachiman is the only guy capable of picking up on it, except when it comes to yui and yukino)
also, his habit of making himself the villain to solve other people's problems is really dumb. there are other ways to do what he needs to do. i just feel like he's really cynical and that still doesn't change by the end of season 2.
also, yui/saika and hachiman (and even hayato and hachiman) are a way better ship than yukino and hachiman.

Havent watched the 3rd season yet, but the first Season gave me one of the best male waifus and had good comedy, now it seems more like geniune insults and hatred but played off as playful, so i probably will still majority enjoy it but its not anything revolutionary to me.
Everyone is talking about tha this anime is "deep" but i think that it´s truly simple. Hikki just think about himself like Yukinon, and that is not "deep" they just are selfish and don´t know how to establish a normal relationship with anyone. Being different than the most people it´s not deep and in this anime is unpleasant.
Apart from the characters the anime doesn´t have any purpose, the main characters stay the same as in the third chapter, there is no evolution in them.

Anyway, I hope that the 2nd season will be better because it´s best rated

i liked season 1 better than 2, i just feel like season 2 was really dragged out and had very little humor, season 1 was better

I guess I'm in the minority when I say that Oregairu's story is overrated like crazy. I find most of everyone's dialogue is presumptuous to the point of edginess. It's as if a 14 year old emo wrote the script. Nobody talks like this.
Even though he's self-described and acknowledged by everyone as a "loner", the main character is surrounded by people who rely on him and actively try to be a part of his life, having more relationships than anyone around him. The plot progresses through the solving of problems which only need to be solved (by our edgy smart hero of course) since apparently everyone on the vicinity of Hachiman has the social awareness and pro-activity of an amoeba.
So, basically I'd sum this up as a bland edgy boy and his harem which has a 50% chance of increasing every time he acts normally towards a girl.
This being said, season 3 has definitively shown improvement but it's still bland drama.
I found similar weaknesses in this anime. To add up my own opinion to yours, there's little to no character development, they are plain and that's it, that doesn't mean I think every character's trait is straight up bad, I like Yui's determination for example. As you said, there's also something weird in the way they talk, I can't find out what is it exactly, but it makes the anime hard to watch for me at some points. I would also like to point out the trio's relationship, it looks like they don't even know each other, there's little interaction between them, it's just straight up strange.
I do find some moments funny ngl and overall the anime is enjoyable, that's why I gave it a 6/6.5 (since I rank anime/manga on a enjoyment basis) and I will be watching Season 3 soon to see how this story ends.

When I watched first two season I was like "Mhh pretty good but sometimes boring" and then season 3 came and I was amazed of how good it was and how it turned out.

Onestly, I think it's....ok.
It's very overrated, espacially in its own fanbase, but I don't think it's bad. It has many problems, like been verbose and pump up very stupid or simple things, the fact that pretty much all characters are flat and doesn't have an in-depth growth with coherence, or a stereotyped and unrealistic ending for a series that want to be talk about a serious theme. It's a waste, but still I don't think it's bad. Not every anime needs to be Ghost In The Shell to talk about something, sometimes even a more "childish" way to talk about things can a right way
It's been a while since I saw the first two seasons. If I remember, I felt like the second season had really weird pacing, and I enjoyed the start of the 2nd season more. Especially the end of the season felt anticlimatic?
First season is great though.
There's few characters that have the same approach to life that Hachiman does. I'm not a huge fan of his negative outlook, but that's not to say that there aren't certain personality elements that I resonate with.

it was ok. I mean we all know who he was going to end up with anyway, but what matters is what happens in between. Season 2 was actually good, I liked the tension, frustration and complexity between the trio. Not sure how I feel about the ending totally not saying this because I am team Yui. I am not really a fan of romance genre and if I am being honest it wasnt as good as people were hyping it up to be. But I agree with one thing that all the characters are 10/10.
