They could never make me like you, Zenitsu.

Animation is good and all but i swera to god everytime i heard Zenitsu in my ears i thought of jumping off of the window. The coward who never overcomes his cowardness. The annoying who never stops being annoying. He had such a potential for growth and yet continues to be overpowered, not dealing with his issues and never truly growing. Even after watching the movie, i can't say if i am disappointed or just not surprised. It's sad to say i fully dropped kimetsu only because of him (which is not completely true, but he did have the biggest impact on the decision) as i could see the anime being good, had he not been there or had actually been a good character.

Maybe i should have started with the manga, maybe not being able to hear his SCREAMING voice every 2 seconds would have helped, but i think i would have fallen under the "where's his growth?" question again. I wish he'd be conscious while fighting, even if eyes closed so he can focus. I wish they'd made him overcome his own issues (even if not toning down the screms, i think i could have lived with that if they actually developed his character).

Maybe also i'm just not the demographic (even if i do love many shonen), as i can tell many characters are very childish sometimes. For some reason still, he's the only one truly pissing me off. Many characters are a bit one dimensional, but i think he's by far the one that i cannot excuse to be so unthoughtfully written.
For exmaple, Inosuke's another character that feels very... bland? I don't even know how to describe it. It's fine to have a character be a comic relief, just... do it well. Don't constantly repeat jokes or get the character barely any screen (only letting him show to be "funny"), as it gets bothersome and a bit underwhelming. You can almost predict how thing's will go down as soon as you have both Zenitsu and Inosuke on the screen.

In order for this review to not be only a Znitsu rant, i'll just point out a few smaller issues i have with the series. I have heard of endgame ships. I don't know how they fully develop them, but they all felt weird for some reason. Backstories are all so dramatic, at some point it feels like too much. I won't dive in the fan service matter but it bothers me a bit. Too much talk, too little showing - I feel like kimetsu treats the viewer like a dumb little kid who needs everything explained to them in words, and that takes away from the immersion for me.
Maybe i was just also expecting more, given the amount of glazing the show receives, who knows. Unfortunately, this will always be that one show i wish i could enjoy as much as others, but that will always bother me as soon as i think about it.
