One Piece is my favorite anime because of characters, storyline, fights, world-building and mystery

One Piece is my favorite anime, I haven't watched too many anime but enough to give a valid review. The characters, storyline, fights, world-building and mystery are some of my favorite aspects of this show. The cast of characters is second to none, nearly 1000 episodes of character development and its clear that not one of the characters is the same as when they were first introduced, none of the important characters anyway. Take the straw hats, the main characters, they all had there developments some happenings as early as 30 episodes in and some getting their big development 800 episodes in. The development isn't the only thing that makes the characters some of the best ever written, they all have their own personalities, Luffy is probably my favorite of the lot, he is, of course, the main character and is always a joy to have on screen, he is hilarious and awesome at the same time and that goes for so many others as well. At first glance, the One Piece storyline is quite basic, a kid who wants to become the strongest, we've all seen it, but as you go on it becomes clear that so much more is going on, countries being overthrown, a world in the sky and in the sea (that has incredible potential for theories), corruptness in the government, after having weekly episodes for over 20 years, there is close to nothing we haven't seen. The fights in One Piece are some of the best you'll see. My personal favorite is Luffy vs Katakuri, but Luffy vs Lucci, Luffy vs Doflamingo, Luffy, Zoro, Kid, Killer and Law vs Big Mom and Kaido , Luffy vs Crocodile, I could go on forever but my point is that fights in One Piece rarely disappoint. The world-building in One Piece couldn't be any better, they've given us just enough information to be able to show us the world and the basic understanding of what's going on as time goes on, but they are holding off on information that isn't vital but it gives a lot of room for the imagination for example a new thing that has come up there is a whole race that we have never heard of that lives on the Red Line, and its relevant to King or Imu-sama and their connection to Joy Boy, Luffy, Blackbeard, Shirahoshi and Vivi. The mysteries brought with the world-building gives life to hundreds and thousands of theories that float around the internet which provides life outside of the anime itself. I have one complaint about One Piece and its only relevant to the anime and that is the abysmal pacing, possibly the worst out of any show I have seen, if you aren't binging it or keeping up with it weekly, it can really be a pain which leads some people to start reading the manga which is understandable. The pacing doesn't have to do with the source material so the actual story of One Piece isn't impacted whatsoever and can be enjoyed for almost anyone. For people who want adventure or action this is the anime for you and if you think 1000 episodes is too much, shut up, it isn't enough.
