He is not really attached to his father, he is more attached to his sister and the butlers they have who he calls family. He wants to be a noble again so his family which are all the people we saw at the table have a good life again. He only hates the Granvell because of the lies he got told, but keel is not dumb after Cecile and Allen told him what happens he can see that this might be true. Also for money and getting his status back he would do anything.

I would also like to add that Keel seems to have struggled with self-worth. Having been abandoned by his father and living separately from his family, it is natural that he was obsessed with the good memories from his past: memories with his family, even with his father. It seems he thought that there was something wrong with him or his abilities, which led to the abandonment.

Well but I can see overall that his decision to be weird to trust what cecile and allen said because sadly the anime has a super fast pacing, it's not like it's unwatchable but there is still a lot cut from the light novel. And even the Light Novel which is the original is sadly from volume 3 (so beginning of the 2nd anime season) super rushed which is super sad :( I really love Hell mode but they skip so much sadly and the anime will cut even more (I guess though that it at least shows more than the terrible manga)
