This is if anything a great demonstration of everything insufferable and tedious about litRPG (as a fan and someone generally amenable to the concept of "gamey" reincarnation stories and those with gamified trappings!), and I have read some of the original manga lol. So much here, right up to the "Wow, sucking on those titties felt great" and hackneyed stat screens are ills of the excessive narrative handholding and general dearth of creativity that so flourishes. If anything, on some level volume 1 was worse about it because I remember a lot more stat screens and interminable dialogues between chapters that are essentially systems explanations without any actual reason to care about the systems or their being explained, so I guess the YAL folks did that right.

Same issue in episode 2 as well. The background audio completely drowns out the dialogue. I honestly don’t understand who thought this mix was acceptable without even checking it, anyone would have noticed, even the most incompetent person.

I'm not going to go so far as to say "good," but . . . surprisingly okay? I like the personality some of the summons showed, and I hope the gag of them launching out of the book straight into Allen's face continues when he gets some bigger creatures.

honestly really fun, i was expecting something a bit more dark since it was called hell mode but i don't mind if this just turns out to be a more standard fun isekai but the MC REALLY has to grind to do anything, especially with how well they handled the SOL elements, that moment at the end there was really wholesome and sweet

Lots of pointless skill windows easy to ignore. Family seems cute. Interesting summoning being infinite craft monster edition.

Haven't read it and just watched Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord prior, but wondering what will change with the assessment.

It's a story that kicks off very slowly (in the novels it's a very good gradual buildup), so it's a difficult source material to adapt with a 12 episode limit but let's see what they make of it.

this show is having so much fun with its lines and gags lol I really enjoyed it, Allen's family is really wholesome too, and his summons looks cute so far, but ngl I'm quite worried for the bigger monsters later on bcs from the OP visuals they look janky af

I can't even express how happy I'm that protagonist actually acted like a normal kid. Even that comment about sucking on a tit was not anything bad in comparison to the complete creep of Mushoku Tensei. A normal family, I'm happy for the protag that he feels great with his new life and new family and loves them very much.

  You can do comparisons either using the sameness principle or opposites principle to highlight your point, it's not incorrect. It was a legitimate fear tho with 30yo being suddenly fully aware infant considering how isekai male protagonist are either stoic, dense or creepy. I wouldn't srsly mind if some of the isekais introuced the thought regression for the younger years and keep all the adult thoughts turned off in isekais where adult reincarnates as a newborn. Tho when it doesn't happen and protagonist never has those thoughts at all audience at least knows right away they're a good person so not having thoughts regression also has its storytelling uses. (Being horny or having sexual thoughts in and of itself is not bad, but when you know you are an infant baby it's awkward if not outright creepy to have those thoughts about your mom).

    Mushoku tensei mc was pretty much full blown creep even before he got reincarnated, worse is his new father also scum who cheat on his wife. I honestly think author could hv write better main character instead of pedophile

    I'm well aware. Every time I say any bad word about that series there is a procession of protectors trying to convince me that it's all on purpose because Rudeus becomes "better later" and that it's a story that is supposed to teach him to be better but tbh I don't think it ever does teach him to be better (and it looks like his father doesn't even try to lead by example to show him how to be decent). If people want example of a male protagonist who behaved wrongly and was taught a lesson they better start bringing Subaru from Re:Zero because there are literally instances in that story when he dies exactly because he behaved in a way that infringed on female characters' autonomy (the most poigniant example being Emilia's test that she only passes when he stops trying to do it for her and actually learns a lesson and shows her that she can do it on her own and he is there to give moral support). He becomes far more decend man as story progresses.
    Not to mention that the whole "he becomes better" doesn't erase the issue he needs a psychological help for being a literal pedophile and should be kept as far away from kids as possible even when he looks like a kid himself due to reincarnation. If author's purpose was to make the anime version of Lolita then I guess they managed to show us the depths of human creepiness... but if goal was redemption then I'm afraid he could only be better if his personality was deleted.
