I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. I'm not sure how it will work as a serial, but chapter 1 alone was such a nice story and definitely was a good answer to the question "Okay, but what if the Hero and Villain just decided they were done"
I typically don't seek out slice-of-life because it's not my thing, and I'm definitely the kind of person who's wary of the over-saturated fantasy/hero tropes, but something about this just works. I really love how the author plays with familiar tropes and comedy to cut thru bulky things like lore, past trauma, and power-explaining in a way that manages to deliver the necessary information without unnecessary weight/time spent on it. There's something both hilarious and wholesome about "I peeped on your memories to save you the pain of explaining them."
I've enjoyed Powerful Demon Lord Otaku characters in the past like Staz (Blood Lad) and Leviathan (Obey Me), but I don't know if I've ever seen one in the making?
[Spoiler] Love how obviously-not-normal the friend, Eiri was just from the first panel (I was hoping she was a squid girl, was so right ♥)
