Silver Mountain Chapters 1-22 discussion

Overall Thoughts:
I’m a huge fan of Karakuri Circus and Souboutei must Die. I’ve always adored how Kazuhiro’s able to fold genres together into these multi act ensemble cast narratives. So far, I’ve really enjoyed the spirit based magic system of Silver Mountain, and the main characters’ backstories and motivations are very well realized considering it’s been less than a year of publication.

Only concern I have as of now is that if combat encounters continue as they have so far, it might end up turning into a Solo Leveling tier power fantasy slop series, which I’d hate. Saidda is also a badass but doesn’t get as much time as Gin and Hyoudou and is right now established as mostly weaker. This combined with the whole “Saidda totally isn’t like my wife ;)” just worries me about whether Saidda will get enough agency in the story to make her feel enjoyable as the female lead. I have faith in Kazuhiro though; he has the skills to make it work.
