Last time was semi reasonable but what reason could Umi possibly have to be on that boat??? Her parents are literally right there with her so I doubt it's the same as last time and trying to talk with dead Shiroha since she hasn't died yet

I think considering Shiroha route was cut down to 3 episodes when all the rest of the routes got 4, they intentionally didn't do these scenes as well as they're doing them now because they wanted it to still feel special despite basically being a repeat of events from her route. It worked better in the visual novel since Shiroha was generally the first route you'd play, so by the time you actually got to these repeated events in Alka, it'll have been so long since you read Shiroha that it might as well be fresh again by that point

Shiroha’s arc was short but Umi’s arc being a type of rehash and adding to it helps. Having two characters involved here ups the stakes for me.

The anime felt lackluster for the most part but including all the character’s in Umi’s arc and playing off Shiroha’s arc for the story this does feel like the high point of the series. I genuinely want to know what is going to happen next.
