well, it'll probably get axed soon
I kinda liked this manga but the chapter 1 was not that decent to bring readers
maybe it lacked a good chapter one structure to do a proper introduction on "what the MC and his girlmate does and why the reader should give it a try"
Chapter 2 and 3 was way better. I like this game-dev theme but maybe the editor or even the author couldn't bring it in an interesting way in the first chapter.
Noto is kinda boring, I'd like to see more of her. She is useful to bring new decisions to the story but otherwise, she had a few pages in the first few chapters to make people connect a little bit with her...
As OP said, this arc is taking a good direction, so maybe we can connect a lot more with all the characters.

Yeah, there's just something about the lack of a tactile response that makes it hard to connect. Like sports manga can get away with bringing people into a sport they've never cared about through art that lets you feel the effort of the training and the power behind a kick, hit, throw etc. That's almost completely absent here.
