I feel like because of the 12 episode limit they’re forced to rush some things for the anime unfortunately.. Some scenes would really shine with more time, but it is what it is.

I honestly don't remember the game well enough to do a comparison but the anime seems alright from my point of view.

I don't remember Miss Accord from Drakengard 3 being mentioned in NieR... My memories are so hazy, I'll have to replay all the games at one point.

I don't know if I like this zombie plot intertwining with children and Pascal, it certainly elevated the camp plotline but with the cost of Pascal plot becoming worse imo, I like the game version better, but hey, Devola and Popola on screen for however many seconds and I'm still happy, Replicant anime when:d
I was wondering how the anime would handle Pascal making the decision, and the answer is that they didn't. I wonder if they went this route because they didn't want to make one of the 3 choices "canon" in any sense, as it's one of the few story missions where you're free to choose an ending.
It also, in my opinion, gives A2 a better reason to chase the tower. In the game, A2 knows Pascal for a short moment before the village is attacked (although she does have 2B's memories), but it doesn't imply enough of a personal connection to the machines in the village to warrant A2 climbing the tower because of it. If anything, her original goal seemed more important to her character. In the anime, it's framed as partially her fault that the resistance camp fell through her suggestion to bring the children there, and her connection to both Lily and the village seem like enough to drive her to the story's conclusion in route E.

It was bad enough to lose the children, but even the resistance camp, too!? Lily... Jackass... And Pascal... They all went out in a blaze of glory, but this was WAY too much for me to handle. ;-; Way to break my heart TWICE.
