Was JJK set up for failure since 223? (Spoilers)

Gojo was always going to come back and Yuta using his body makes sense, but honestly I feel like he should have stayed dead. I knew this wasn't going to happen, but when Gojo appeared in chapter 260, I thought Sukuna was seeing a vision of Gojo and that this vision would affect him mentally and make him slip up somehow so Yuji and Todo could finally finish him off. Looking back now, it feels completely pointless to finally have Todo and Yuji fight together when Yuta returns in Gojos body in the next chapter. I know people wouldn't be happy if Gojo didn't actually come back but I don't see any way it could have been done properly.

I agree with what you're saying completely. That vision of Gojo is really what I was hoping for, but even then that wouldn't have been received well. I was also hoping the vision of Gojo would've been foreshadowing that Yuji would finally catch up to both of them? Idk, but yea good take on the situation.

gege shot himself in the foot by having the final villain pool be limited to two guys and making one of them extremely op while not making the mc stronger

JJK was set up for failure from day 1 with how incredibly unfair and unbalanced the power levels were. Gojo has always been so stupidly overpowered that getting rid of him (first in Shibuya, then again when he got cleaved) was the best way to make things interesting. The problem now is, how do you defeat someone who was strong enough to defeat Gojo, without making it unbelievable? At least, that’s the problem from my POV. For Gojo fans, I guess the problem is more like, “noooo don’t stitch up his beautiful face!”

Sukuna was significantly weakened from his fight with Gojo which allowed the Jujutsu High team to weaken him further with the subsequent battles, it's a progression that actually makes sense

The absolute waste of time that has been the past 25 chapters up till now was unfathomably stupid - the execution here was terrible

there haven't been genuine character arcs since before the culling games started, when characters used to be more than exposition machines. If instead of introducing all these unnecessary side characters they actually built up Itadori and Yuta, and at the very most only kept the judge guy, the battle would have been cleaner, giving more time for the arcs to breathe and the power levels to increase with each bout and combination of characters.
Yuta should have been absent since he killed Kenjaku and ought to have gotten a fake out death - rather than pretend it was Yuta's plan all along it should have been a last ditch measure to copy Kenjaku's technique + save Yuta's life.

If we assume the time was taken to power up Itadori, and that the entire battle took place while Sukuna was weak from fighting Gojo and still couldn't use his domain, then defeating a nerfed Sukuna was totally feasible

I'd go so far to say that Geje has actually made it harder to believe Sukuna is too powerful. He's nearly lost in every major segment of the fight, getting pummelled to an inch of his life and then ass-pulling a powerup from nowhere to keep fighting.

If JJK was set up for failure, it was because Geje is incompetent, not because of the Gojo v Sukuna fight scenario

Honestly JJK while I'm actually enjoy It, I can understand why people keep saying It's suffers from bad writing because how so many characters keep getting killed before they get more development/fleshed out by Mr. Gege, With how the series also have so many amazing potential for opportunity moments (Like Megumi could have actual conversation with Toji, Nobara could potentially became another Sukuna vessels, Etc) but the writing problem is what make a lot of people already dropped It. Plus, Honestly JJK characters are carried by they good-looking artstyle
