Ah, interesting. Togame redemption arc I guess? With the leader being the real "bad guy" here? Or is this gonna turn into a "We made the bad guys good" situation?

Well, I guess it's time to wait another week to find out.

Ikr, we're here to see the fight! Just make the bad guy the real asshole so we could root for the MC to beat the shit outta him. This happened once with Ranking of Kings where they keep adding tragic back story for every characters and the show turned to shit.

  I have to disagree with always needing to make the bad guy fully evil or a real asshole. That's not really human nor compelling imo

Thoughtless comment, if you want to see fights go watch the UFC. Backstories are good when done well and this was clearly the case. Togame has a valid reason for acting the way he does and it was a choice he made. Remember how before the fight we got told how it was going to be a conversation? they are no longer trading blows, but ideals.

Togame's character twist really surprised me in the greatest way possible.

His villainous persona was a choice, which he clearly questions and doubts, let alone now that he's against the wall due to Sakura's overwhelming "moral" attack. Besides he was good to begin with, it's just that he believes in his leader's redemption too much; an understandable belief given their relationship. The story made sense and was relatable to an extent, not a cheap tearjerker for the sake of drama.

Also, as expected, animation, choreo, and ost were jaw-dropping. Definitely my favorite of the season!

His backstory was 2/10. If you think I only watch anime for fights. then look at my list. I gave 10s to only 12 shows, and only 3 have fights.

  he didn't want to make his crazy friend sad and wanted to see him smiling. so he decided to become a hole for his friend. WOW What a backstory. They rush the backstory of Kouta, Yukinari, Minoru, Chouji, and Togame.

    for the other ones, sure, their backstory didn't really do anything for me. However, Togame and chouji had pretty well estabilished personalities and the backstory works to accentuate that and explain why they fight. The backstory could have had more time dedicated to it, sure but still works great to elevate the fight. Like I said, they were trading ideals, instead of blows at that point. What do you fight for has been a staple of story telling for a long time.
