I hope Blaise made it to Mr. Pig's world ….
This whole episode was one built on hesitance, as nearly the whole episode was fighting, hiding, and looking out for one another. Though, in the end, there wasn't anything that was able to save Blaise, as of now.
With episode nine concluding with Blaise, I hope these last three won't be rushed as the team approaches the royal capital.
Blaise is gone... noooo :'(
Blaise and homie just walked into each other. There was just so much standing and yelling, or waiting around. Jess and Blaise stared at each other and smiled for like 8 seconds before the dude walked up with a blade. I've also never lauighed at a dude catching fire cause what even was that?
You can also check my reply below but TL;DR, this episode only adapted 11 pages of contents. And it's with the poorest quality of directing too.
Looks like they did rush the production by stretching 11 pages into 23 minutes with meaningless pauses and staring and smiling, without really filling in the details and substances... sigh...
I hope the quality dive of this episode is only an exception.
As an LN reader I am very pissed about this episode. Not only the quality of the animation but how they changed and butchered the story. The ridiculous thing is, this scene isn't supposed to be an action sequence (this episode only adapted 11 pages which are more dialogues than action). I have absolutely no clue why they would change it to an action-focused scene like this, and only to screw it up big time...
Also, they have been very faithful in adapting the LN in the past 8 episodes. It's really weird they would completely change the story progression like this in this episode. Did they want to add some cool action and fighting to make it more appealing? Looks like it backfired in the most terrible way.... /sigh
From where can i read the LN?
The English edition is licensed by J-Novel Club
The quality in this episode is shocking. Both animation and the directing is very bad, even worse than the standard of this studio.
There is nothing we can do...
I feel bad for all the staff involved. They had to delay this episode for a week, and still, this was the final product. Probably felt like this by the end:

i think it was one of the worst anime episode i have ever watched
