Tell me Gojo Satoru is strong without telling me he is strong :

The fights were so good, hand to hand combat masterclass! But the real MVP this episode was the OST, absolutely stellar!
So crazy that we are not even in the half of the season yet, we'll be eating good for another 3 months!
How did you like it?

First episode to rely more on webgen than usual, but with that in account it was pretty fine overall. Some unreadable segments and the difference in quality between veteran cuts and webgen cuts was pretty visible but I don’t have anything majorily to moan about (that they forgot to lip sync Yuji when he threw the car is funny though). Apart from Ino dying it’s kind of a low priority fight anyways, and the schedule is bad as it is, so I’m just glad that we’re getting decent quality. MAPPA is trying to silence their staff with contracts but some of them don’t care about the consequences and spoke about it anyway, lol.
To the content itself, I liked once again to get some Gojo stuff, I just like when someone as powerful as Gojo influences the narrative and world through his presence alone, so I liked to see his birth from the POV of a curse user. Ino’s death is a bit random, and a little sad because I kind of liked him. The details of his abilities kinda flew over my head because this series explains stuff more complicated than it actually is, but, I guess now it doesn’t really matter.
short opinion today Mr. Kaito hmmm...
it's nice ya added this situation with Mappa workers
blud got punched so hard it replayed six times at six precise angles
Bollywood type beat
This was a cool fight, i liked the way Yuji and Megumi beat him
Is Toji back like how Geto came back? Im guessing thats the case
I wont spoil as they will explain next ep but no, their situations are very different. Geto is not Geto. Toji is Toji
I find it really weird that some hag has such a summon.
This might be an unpopular opinion but I find the fights so weird and jarring this season. It feels more like a slideshow tbh. It's like a fight starts, they start to throw hands and we are straight away skipping to the impacts and not seeing any fluidity in their attacks. It is so bad sometimes that it is even difficult to tell what is going on at certain points. And what's with the constant use of slow motion? Why can't we have fast paced combat like Season 1 and the movie? The art and the animation have improved overall but the fighting animation and choreography have taken a big hit. They really should have bought the old director back for this season,
Honestly how I'm feeling. I personally am not as fond of the art/animation change, although I am someone who values consistency in general so; but at least I could assure myself that the fights would look very fluidly animated. That ... hasn't always - always, sometimes it's good, but not always - felt the case during the fights, which is important for a series literally named 'Sorcery Fight'. But the impact-cutaways and slowing-down of certain points in the fight feel way different in how they're used than in the first season. The grasshopper fight was really egregious about it, but caught some instances in the first episode where I went, "Hmmm." I don't want to feel like that my holding of the first season on such a pedestal, and my distaste for changing styles, is impacting my review of this season, but my rating is lower than the first season for a reason. As a manga reader, I know which upcoming set of scenes will make or break my overall feelings, because in the manga it's flat-out beautiful, and I hope the team manages to step up their game for it. If not ... well, I'll just sigh, blame MAPPA execs for overworking them, and try not to take it as personally as I took the grasshopper episode. Like, I'm overall enjoying the season, but I can't stop doing comparisons.
what is going on with this show? this episode was boring
Anime only and kind of bored.
I thought Hidden Inventory was excellent. Great animation, great direction, great story with characters I legitimately care about.
The Shibuya arc thus far has felt like 5 episodes in a row of exposition heavy set up, with surprisingly mediocre fight choreography.
But this seems like a minority opinion, so if you think this is peak fiction, I'm happy for you. Actually kinda jealous of you, because my friends are losing their minds and I hate being a downer by not matching their enthusiasm.
we are literally at the beginning of the arc lol, the set-up is needed for what's to come, ik it's difficult to watch a complex arc like this one weekly, so you'll probably be bored for some more episodes till we get to the major fights and events.
If this choreography was mediocre for you somehow you should have watched Bleach with it's still Animation with almost no movement, there wasn't a single fight with this level of choreography in the second part.
Yeah I already said it a bunch of times how strained the schedule is but when animators speak about it despite contracts it's just really bad. Itsuki Tsuchigami (one of the animators working on it) also said that it's not a good place to work at if you want to do your best, it's probably only worth it if you're young and desperate for exposure.
Just watched the latest episode, and I'm seriously considering dropping this series at this point. It's the third time this season that they forgot to lip sync properly. Every episode feels like a low-priority build-up episode (e.g., episodes 6, 8, 10, and 11). It's frustrating because most of the episodes seem low-priority, which is absurd, considering that the whole point of the anime medium is to enhance the source material. I can't blame the G.O.A.T Gosso and his staff, though.
Regarding your mention of 'webgen,' I'm not sure what that is. Could you please explain? Also I think they are using chopped-up zoomed-in shots for action scenes because they lack in-between frames and offc time, what do u think?

It's funny how MAPPA just don't care about their staff. Animators seem to be beyond their breaking point.
By the way, today's episode featured a lot of foreign animators. Someone at MAPPA must have an incredible ability to go on Twitter and search for 'animator.' It's like a last-ditch enchantment spell to hold the studio together

Well I think Sukuna vs Jogo at least will be a highlight. Maybe even a team Go episode. But well, from what I heard (don't know, am anime-only after all) Shibuya is non-stop action so it's necessary to take priorities, even more with the current state of the production.
Regarding your mention of 'webgen,' I'm not sure what that is. Could you please explain?
Webgen is basically the generation from the web. Animators hired via the internet. Tatsuya Yoshihara and Shingo Yamashita are examples of webgen who have become industry veterans today, but they were properly mentored & trained when entering the industry. Nowadays new talent just gets thrown right into the production though, there is no system in place to support mentorship and veteran staff has already their hand full so yeah. That often leads to webgen animators lacking proper fundamentals which makes their output often weaker than veteran output. There are exceptions of course, some webgen animators just self-studied and learned the animation fundamentals (Chris, Vercreek) but they are few. This industry seriously needs better support for new talent entering it, both domestic and overseas. There are enough people who can become the veterans of tomorrow but there is no one to guide them.
Also I think they are using chopped-up zoomed-in shots for action scenes because they lack in-between frames and offc time, what do u think?
There are few instances where I think that could be the case, but it didn't look zoomed-in to me, so I rather place the issue on the SB. It seems like this is Kurosaki's enshutsu/SB debut and we already saw in episode 8 that Gosso doesn't manage to properly quality control so that's bound to happen.
You missed the Necromancer part?
