Choso looks a lot better than he did in S1.

The interaction between Yuuji and the Grasshopper curse was funny but I wasn't really keen on the fight...

I've been looking forward to seeing Gojo casually walk over the people trapped in Shibuya station lol

Yuuji's reaction to Mei Mei and Ui Ui's interactions perfectly sums up my feelings

Pretty good episode, although the action sequences pretty rough plus the ghosting doesn't make it any better. Seriously this is one of the worst cases that is suffering from ghosting this badly but it's also a pretty good tactic to have fans buy the Blu-ray.

I love the thicker outline for the curse, it was really cool. The AD work during some parts were also amazing.

This is also a cute cut, Yuji running down the staircase like that doesn't make sense but it also feels just like him.

I think thicker line art was a neat idea to show the creepiness and intensity of something different from this world coupled with the normal background. As for your point on rearranging the chapter i think it was a good idea, it seems that they're planning to start with episode with Yuji's comment about the train till the sealing
It makes sense from production point of view as well, next episode seems like a prioritized one and letting your best key animators work under a single person's idea seems better than dividing it with a slightly less prioritized episode like this.

The story so far is still kinda intriguing. I wonder what the activation conditions for the Prison Realm are, considering that Geto needs them to stall Gojo for 20 minutes at least (and have him focused). The grasshopper was kinda funny, we’re back to comedy which works. We also now see Mei’s brother, and their dynamic is… weird. I already heard some weird stuff about Mei, we’ll see for ourselves I guess. But that’s not a normal sibling relationship.

The storyboards of this episode especially in the action sequences were weird though, t wasn’t easy to follow and there was a lack of continuity at times. I liked the ambitious cuts with the 3D backgrounds but Itadori was also randomly spawning there out of nowhere. Not saying that I didn’t understand what’s going on but good action storyboarding immediately gives you an idea of the space the two people who fight are in, their relationship, where they are & what they are doing. But it wasn’t a big fight anyways. There are also cuts where the drawings have low resolution, it kinda feels like the actual cut is bigger but they zoomed in for some reason. That’s weird as well.

Aside from that though, the drawings are super good. Yousuke Yajima has a more detailed touch than what we usually get but I don’t mind considering how good it looks.

after reading you, I know we have same feelings today. episode feels so wrong in some way, that I can't even write it. especialy when i wrote about mixing different chapters...

  Btw, considering how you mentioned you find the rearranging of events odd: I think they did it to maybe have Gojo taking off his blindfold & Geto's full plan at the end of the episode as some sort of cliffhanger.

ngl, I'm surprised you gave it a 6.5 because this episode was kind of mid?? It felt like the most 'get the job done' episode ever, LOL. It's the weakest episode of jjks2, with choppy scenes, weird storyboarding without continuity, and as you mentioned, it had solid concepts but lacked execution. The fight was obviously a throwaway one, so I guess we can let it slide this time, as long as they make up for it in the next episode.The Gojo segments with that ost looked great, the blood attack was probably my favorite cut from this episode, loved the camera work. Also, an important piece of information to note is that Itadori is clever

  I rate based on enjoyment. 6 means it's fine, basically, I enjoyed it but I wouldn't necessarily watch again. Anything above that means there are some parts which stayed with me and I liked. For this episode, it was the general storyline which continued to be intriguing and the comedy with the Grasshopper. Yes, the fight was disjointed and I pointed it out, but it didn't particularly bother me. But yes, I agree that both episode 8 and 6 are the weakest episodes of this season so far. Neither of them were bad though.

  Yeah...it was a lot of "Gomu-Gomo no Gatling Gun" attacks and .png character frames (characters not actually moving.
  I think that it was worst than One Punch Man Season 1 Vs. Season 2.
  But fanboys are...idk...just too fanboyy.
  I mean...look...I really liked the first season of Mushoku Tensei...and it wasn't because of the animation (it was the pacing, the characters/writing of characters)...but that doesn't mean that I will just lie and say that Season 2 is anything near Season 1 when it comes to the direction and the very obvious cut content (that was not that present/obviously missing in the first Season)...and I hope that I don't have to mention the lower quality of animation...and the very obvious switches to "random" 5 seconds sakuga scenes.
  I want people to be honest.
  Just say that you don't want to believe that JJK could ever get lower in quality than that Yuji fight in this episode!

Mei Mei being a literal brother lover is a loss to the community fr she was fineee.
That scene where Gojo drops his blindfold was beautiful as well.
Next episode is gonna be so damn good I can already tell. Jogo and Hanami are about to get beat like Miguel did for discovering how to counter his infinity lmao

this was by far the worst jjk episode, not terrible, but the weakest one so far. pacing was awful, animation was decent at best and the fucking ghosting... this season is gonna suffer so fucking much from the ghosting:(

Uh, how do I put this? The episode just didn't seem right. And while I can't put my finger on it exactly why I felt that way, I have some gripes on some of the animation decisions made in this episode:

Still frames that went on way longer than comfortable, a lot of ghosting frames that also went on longer than comfortable

Also felt a bit choppy in terms of frames and i cant rly put my finger on why that was. Best way i can put it is that it felt like me playing on my 144 hz monitor then switching back to my laptops built in screen which is 65hz

like it felt as if there was room to add some extra frames in some movements but was instead left out so body movement felt choppier than what they've done in the past.

I hope it does get better, though. Unfortunately, a majority of this anime fanbase gives next to 0 shits on the story and only the fight scenes (Which is fair for a shonen) so I can already sense some hate on MAPPA. But at the end of the day, they're just too overbooked, man.. Like please understand, they just released a god damn marvel of a movie not too long ago.

For me I am not liking this new director's work. Animation was decent and action sequence didn't give me the slightest of JJK vibes. Season 1 and the movie has that unique JJK vibe that this season didn't give me at all.

Also, apart from a few weird cuts this episode was very polished, I wouldn't say it was the "get the job done" episode. That spot is easily reserved for episode 6.
