That "movie" wasn't one
It was a clear stitch of 4 episodes, they probably couldn't fit those into a 4-weekly TV slot so they just release that splice, and then aired it as it was originally produced, in-between Winter/Spring- IndigoDrift6663 years ago2
If that's how it was originally produced, then my question shifts from "why did they split the movie into 4 episodes?" to "why release them in a movie format in theaters way ahead of its TV release?" I genuinely don't understand. I saw it labelled as a movie literally everywhere before Crunchyroll released it worldwide, and considering what it's gonna build up to, I was really excited to be able to view this in the movie format. :(

but watching it now, it feels off. the animation style and art style is different and it feels weird compared to the series. And its a lot more ecchi than i remember the show being... (or is it really just the movie? idk)
