The term manga used throughout the challenge encompasses Manga, Light Novels, Manhua, Manhwa, and Doujinshi. If it is included on AniList under the search for Manga, it counts for the manga challenge
<h1>Minimum total chapter count: 200 chapters</h1>
- You cannot use the same manga to fulfil multiple requirements within a challenge
- You cannot use already completed manga
- You cannot reread manga
<h1>You can use up to 5 currently releasing and / or previously started manga. You must state what chapter you are on at the start of the challenge</h1>
- If the manga is currently releasing, you have to be caught up to the current chapter at the time of challenge submission.
- If previously started, and the manga is:
a) Fully released, then you have to finish it;
b) Being released, then you have to be caught up to the current chapter and have read at least one additional chapter. This means you can’t be caught up with the manga on a hiatus and use it without reading any additional chapters.
- List the last chapter and volume read. If there are no volumes, the chapter alone will suffice
- Challenge start date is considered the day you post
- There is no time limit to complete this challenge
- Your activity must include the start and end dates, which can be added in the AniList List Editor

- Post a reply in this forum when you start the challenge with the code we have provided below
- Include the name of the challenge, difficulty level, and challenge start and finish dates in your initial post
- You can keep track of your progress through editing your submission here, or update it when you are finished
- Please use the code we have provided for your challenge submission. You can edit it however you want as long as it follows the same format

- When you have fulfilled all of the requirements for a challenge mode, please post a link to your submission in the Challenge Submissions forum post.
- You will need to state which challenge you are submitting for.
You can get a link by clicking on the link icon on your forum reply. Post that comment web address to the challenge submissions forum. This makes it easier for reviewers instead of looking through multiple forums for submissions

- Read a manga that is the source of one of your favourite anime
- Anime has to be from your favourites box
- Read a manga from your favourite author/artist
- State the author/artist
- If you do not have a favourite author/artist already, select one
- Read an award-winning manga
- State the reward and include a link to verify the award

- Read a manga that combines your favourite and least favourite genres
- Include a screenshot of your manga genre stats page sorted by mean score
Use AL's manga stats page in your profile to find your favourite and least favourite genres. Base your favourite and least favourite genres on "Mean Score". If you do not have a mean score, you can use total count. Provide a screenshot just in case your stats change. Make sure screenshot includes your username! If you cannot find/have read all the manga with that combination, go to your second favourite, then to second least favourite and so on until you find a manga you haven’t read. You are not required to read a sequel if you have not already read the original. If your least favourite is Hentai, you can move up to your second least favourite.
- Read a manga that doesn't contain any of your top 3 genres
- Include a screenshot of your manga genre stats page sorted by count
Use AL's manga stats page in your profile to find your top 3 genres. Base your top 3 genres on "Count".
- Read a sequel / spin-off / alternative to something you've already read
- If you have not read anything that has a sequel / spin-off / alternative, for any other requirement choose a manga that does have a sequel / spin-off / alternative and use it for this requirement.
- Read a manga from your Planning To Read list
- If you do not use a PTR list, plan and read any manga
- Read a manga with a non-alphanumeric character in the title
- i.e.: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( , etc.
- Read a short manga (10 chapters or less)
- Read a long manga (100 chapters or more)
- Read a Manhua, Manhwa or Light Novel
- Manhua is a manga of Chinese origin, Manhwa is a manga of Korean origin. You can find this information in the format section of the manga page (see spoiler for example)
- Read a One Shot
- Anything from this List counts
- Read a manga that began publishing in 1999 or earlier
- Read a manga that began publishing between 2000 and the current year
- Start and catch up to the current chapter of an ongoing manga
- Cannot be a manga you have previously started
- The manga must still be releasing at the time of your submission
- Read a manga with an average score below 70% on AniList
- Include a screenshot if manga score is near 70% and could change
- Read a manga with an average score of 80% or above on AniList
- Include a screenshot if manga score is near 80% and could change
- Read a manga scored 9 / 90% or above from a fellow participant’s manga list
- Include a link to participant’s challenge post
- Read a manga recommended to you by a fellow AL user
- Ask for recommendations on the AWC Discord, or in AniList general chat. Please, do not create a forum post asking for recommendations.
- Include a screenshot
- Read a manga from one of the @AWC staff member’s favourites list
- State the AWC staff member
- You can find a list of staff in the AWC Master Post or on the AWC social page
