I enjoyed the volume a lot.
The special exam didn't really have much relevance, and the whole drama surrounding Kiryuin was a bit convoluted.
Everything else though was great,

Really liked this volume. Sets up Ichinose as a major player with her class's comeback on the horizon as well as setting up Kiyo's transfer (not guaranteed) pretty well. Overall solid volume to wrap up the semester and we have the Nagumo confrontation, final exam and Kiyo transfer to look forward to in the next semester.

The reversal of roles in the confrontation between Ryuuen and Ichinose in the final exam of the 1st year is clear. Ryuuen defeated by his own strength, which was violence and Ichinose by the her love of protecting people, and the feeling for Ayanokouji, another factor that ended up crushing her strength and this weakness, resurfaces. Looks like I'm finally going to see her real potential.

Honestly all this focus on Ichinose kinda bored me to tears but the ending with Ryuuen was great, I liked everything else, especially Kiyotaka showing more of his psycho side can't wait for what will happen with Karuizawa, the council stuff with Horikita and Kushida was also nice, I did find it interesting that both volume 9s give Ichinose a spotlight.
One more thing, time is running out for Nagumo and Ayanokouji to face each other... If that doesn't come to pass after this ungodly amount of setup I'll riot
