I just finished binging the series and it was really good, it kept me hooked in all the episodes, I was really fun watching and the story goes pretty deep too. I also thought I was blind for not seeing it on this website but it's just not there.

so far (im on ep 4) its very very good! it actually follows the manga really well and the art is pretty decent^^ id say that if youve read the manga you wouldnt be too dissatisfied with it! if you havent read it then youre in for a ride lol, i really recommend it

This is actually really good. 1-3 made feel a lot of rage and sadness because of what the MC and his mom has to go through. This is a 4star anime for me (the opening song needs some work, the dancing threw me off I honestly thought it was a dance type of anime.)

Do I need to have prior knowledge of the manhwa to watch this? It's something I don't want to read, but 8 episodes is doable.

What do you think about Lookism anime? I want to know your honest opinion after watching it. Tell anything you want and you think about this.

~Maybe some minor spoilers ahead!~

This show randomly popped up when I was looking for something new to watch on Netflix. I read the summary and I was intrigued, so I added it to my list for when I feel like I need something for in the background.
A day later I found a new strain and it hit me pretty hard ngl. I was watching this while stoned out of my mind and I haven't had so much fun in months. There's a weird character who looks a bit like Gerard Joling but fatter. His first big moment let me spit out my drink since was a bit unexpected. Makes for a great laugh.

There is also a fight scene with Basco in which he is just a CGI render and it makes the sequences feel really weird and a bit jarring. There is a lot of details in the animations, the animations which are done more traditionally look amazing and makes the whole show fun to watch.

Also lots of references to fashion brands and designs and also a few name drops (I remember Doja cat and Nicki Minaj I think). I did watch this show in dun tho and for some reason the main character voices are really annoying to me. He sounds like a random dude that also does ASMR stuff for his YouTube channel. I am not quite sure why but that was the only character's voice that really annoyed me for some reason.

Great show to watch when under influence :D

I hope there'll be a continuation. I stopped reading the manhwa right at the point where the anime ended. Not sure if I'm going to start reading again tho, since I like the anime adaptation better.

Lookism was honestly a pleasant surprise. It had its ups and downs... at its worst tough to watch, and at its best an emotionally captivating show.
Overall tbh its good, but nothing that stands out too much. This is partially probably because its only 8 episodes. A 2nd season would really flesh out the overly large cast of characters the show has, and give time to build redemption arcs for some of these characters.
tldr: a season 2 giving character arcs to Basco, the girl who likes Hyeong-Sak, and Jin Seong would be dope.

I agree, it follows the comic really well, I just wonder how the studio would adapt to the art style evolution if they end up animating up to the first 1/3 of the series. As you know the art style takes quite a huge turn at some point in the story, i just forgot where though

honestly im a bit worried about that part since the fighting scenes can look really yk grainy and intense and idk how well it would be adapted. but at the same time im not too worried though since they did draw one of the fighting scenes really well^^

  Yeah I agree, I think the art style is honestly better in the anime compared to the start of the series, where Mr. Parks art was still towards its beginning stages. Remember how little daniel looked? it was traumatizing (not shade at the artist just the style of how little daniel was drawn)

    totally agree with you, it def gets better tho the further you get in the manga. but as u said he gets done better in the anime compared to the start in the manga yesyes

Yeah more less 28/29 is the end of the anime (in the webtoon)

The series' tone changes drastically later on, so the only thing you need to prepare for is that the later seasons will be completely different :)

I already dropped it, which is unfortunate. I see many saying it turns into a great action series later, but I cannot be assed to read 200+ chapters of content I don't like first. Thank you for your reply either way.
