Best girl in the sense you like her the best or in the sense that she is best written/most important member of the female cast?
Reading parts of the ln i always felt like Horikita is the most important one hope that she shows up a decent amount this season

Mainly in the sense that I like her the best. Though tbh both girls are pretty well written so it's tough to say who is better in that sense

Kei is best girl and while Horikita is still relevant to the plot, she still kinda loses her significance in this part of the story since Kei starts to have a more prominent role (like the cruise ship and the "X" arc)

Really liked this PV. Pretty sure it still is a PV because it only shows scenes from Volume 4. It looks really great. I am wondering how much effort they will put into it, because this exam is amongst my favorites.

Best character, Nagumo looks pretty great. Idk what's up with the hair, though...

  I had some thoughts at first, but I really don't know at this point. 13 Episodes just seem like it won't do the job. If they adapted it correctly, it would easily be the best anime, but they will probably skip a lot of stuff to cover Volume 4-7. Maybe it will be great. Maybe it won't, but I am keeping my expectations low at this point.

    I don't want to get into spoilers, but it still seems rushed. A volume is usually 300 pages or something, meaning they'd have to cut things out. Every volume has substance and meaning to the overall plot, so it just sucks that they need to cut things out to cover all volumes.

    Its the curse of ln adaptations. Their is so much content its impossible to adapt them properly unless you do a re zero where you increase the duration of the episode, cut the op and ed sequence and of course have 24 episodes. Guess we will see

    Yeah, and Volume 1 and 2, which were heavily rushed in the first season, were build-up, showing the school, etc. Volume 3 which was more action-packed, had 4 episodes, and the volumes afterward only become crazier and crazier in terms of action, mind games, and foreshadowing, so only 2-3 episodes for each volume just seem like they are in a rush.

    I mean yeah. Though, it is just a PV. They cannot show the entire LN version, but I think they got more things right this time around. The atmosphere, the voice-acting, the visuals, etc. Still only a PV, but if they adapt the monologues properly, then it could be good, but then again only 13 Episodes, meaning they likely will cut out stuff. Maybe it can be better, but who knows? It's already on Monday. Just overall happy to get more Classroom of The Elite content. Another season is better than no season.

Looks like Kiyotaka is still that one overpowered, emotionless edgy protagonist and they haven't changed him or released that one filler to fix stuff the LN fans have been begging for since the first season's release. While I'm also personally disappointed as they could've fixed some stuff and am really curious to see how they do this arc after messing up the main student count, I'll also say that all of my disappointment went away as soon as I heard the new opening song and man, ZAQ did it for sure this time, it's a really catchy song almost perfect for this and the production value hasn't dropped since the first season(at least in this preview). In fact, I'd say it has improved! the characters still look great and there isn't that big of a change in artstyle either which is just perfect. I'm still looking forward to it however what are your thoughts? doubt everyone are happy they didn't "de-edgify" Kiyo.

  While making Kiyo's personality more like the LN would be preferable for LN fans, there are a lot of anime only fans who will be very confused with the sudden shift of personality. So for the anime, the best choice would be to continue with this sorta personality or maybe develop him in a way that he becomes slightly more human as the seasons progress
  As for the other changes made in s1 as compared to the LN, we're just gonna have to wait and see how they deal with it and hopefully they fix it in some way

  Before i read the light novel i didnt know about any of the changes and felt no disturbance in the flow of the story.
  After reading the Ln i still don't care lol. People overblow things so much when it comes to anime. He really isn't that much less edgy in Ln lol. Definitely not to the extent that the story feels wrong or different. Feel like Ln reader's overblow too much the small changes that anime adaptation often does(The class size change was important of course).

    True. I watched the anime first and then caught up with the LN and despite that I wasn't all that disappointed with the changes made. There were some changes which I wasn't a huge fan of (eg. swimming pool ep) but otherwise the anime was still great regardless and LN fans def overexaggerate and make it sound like it's TPN level of bad adaptation lol

    Agreed i think because the hype was so big that it didnt live up to it making people feel disappointed and when you are disappointed you tend to view things more negatively. Looking at the subreddit people seem to be more positive and appreciative of season 1. Of course waiting for 5 yrs for a season help's lol

  I wholeheartedly believe changing Ayanokouji's personality was wrong. To me, it's a facade to blend in amongst the crowd to escape his past. I do believe a side of him is "edgy" like things he does, but the emotions he shows, in the beginning, are important for his growth because he stops to act that way after a while, and starts becoming more normal, not being like Ike, Sudou, nor Yamauchi. Maybe it's me analyzing wrong, but that's how I understand it, and what makes him a great character. I understand why they decided to make him edgier, as the first season felt like it was just meant to be one season, and it would not make sense to change that in the next season, but well maybe they will adapt some of the scenes where he shows emotions

    I see what you mean in the anime always has that blank expression and doesn't show emotion. When you say show emotion do you mean they should make it so their is emotion or tone to his voice? Unless i am mistaken he has never smiled or laughed in the ln. The most facial emotion he has made was a frown(and even then while reading i didnt feel like he was frowning but the illustration shows him frowning?).
    What would be a nice addition is that they would show him fake emotions more like vary the tone of his voice. If not and they keep him the same i dont mind

I heard that season 2 and 3 will adapt everything, ie the 14 volumes so it may be rushed.

s2 will be till v7 cuz thats the end of the ahem arc. if they do 1-2 40 minute episodes theyll be able to minamally adapt ayano's monolouges else its probably finna be similar to seaason 1. This seasons rating will be def higher doe.

Kiyotaka really is a lot different in the anime compared to how he was in the Light Novel. As @Nagumo just mentioned, it is his way of hiding his past to blend in with the current society by faking a normal personality. Him being emotionless should've been treated as a character flaw (bad example but how Rudeus is a pedophile in Mushoku Tensei) but instead he was straight forwardly shown to be emotionless backed up with him being overpowered and that just made him a self insert edgy isekai protagonist who gets the harem of girls, which he isn't. (for now)

In the LN, he was shown to have more human-like emotions such as having a desire to make new friends, as well as showing embarassment at times

Like the scene where Kushida places his hand on her boobs, in the anime he has no notable reaction at all but in the LN he's shown to resist her and based on his facial expression in the illustration, he was also flustered.

There are several other examples of this throughout the first 3 volumes where he acts more like a human and this was just one of them. I don't particularly hate his personality in the anime though I would've liked to see him show more emotions as he did in the LN, though as I said in an earlier comment in this thread, maybe in the anime they could slowly develop him to start showing more emotions as time progresses
