Probably how they'll adapt. Being Lerche, they might skip parts of 4.5, as a lot of it is side-story, and they already adapted 1-2 chapters. Ending with volumes 7-7.5 is clearly the best option, as it is the conclusion of the "x" arc.
Season 1 has also left many things, I think cannot be fixed. For example, showing flash-backs of the white room, changing Ayanokouji's personality. A lot of it shows that season 1 was a source material seller. Hopefully, they somehow fix it to an extent.
Really just curious to see how many episodes, like 4-7.5 comprise 6 volumes, so 12 episodes would seem incredibly rushed, while 24 episodes seem too good to be true.

From the author's statement in vol 6 of the 2nd year, it didn't seem to be that it was just to promote the novel. Unfortunately, they did not understand the timeline of the work. Season 1 at the beginning was for all 1° semester of vol 1 - 4.5, which unfortunately did not happen. But let's see.

Yeah, I remember reading it. This indicates that, of course, but unfortunately, it seems like the anime was mostly constructed in a way that implied they were only going for a single season.
<blockquote>"We will do our best to connect the anime to the story."</blockquote>
Hopefully, they'll adapt the upcoming volumes properly. Really looking forward to it, under a month left before it airs.
