I don’t see why would this would be a big deal since while Karari is younger then she realize she is both physically and cognitively an adult. It seems like you are taking this, for a lack of a better term, literally then necessary.
The more pressing matter, which the story implies, is that Kareri had the first 10 years of her life taken away from her and was lied to about this the entire time, which I can only imagine is going to be a devastating revelation for her when she finds out the truth.
