Unfortunately, you have to read the manga to find out. I highly doubt Studio Orange will ever make a second season, but if they do, it will be after Beastars has ended. The anime really is a cock block for people who don't read manga, which sucks, but that's just how it is.

The Anime is actually quite different from the Manga. I don't think this scene is present.
