Is it just me or did anyone else imagine the colossal titans trying to cross the ocean and just sinking to the bottom and drowning? No? Just me?

I'm wondering how is the atmosphere going to deal with the massive amounts of water being evaporated by the intense heat of the titans, basically wiping out huge sections of the ocean

In the final episode of AoT season 3 part 2, in the mid credit scene it says that the ocean's deepest point is only 42.6m. The wall titans are 50-60m. This means that even at the deepest point in the ocean, the colossus titans' heads would still be above sea level. Adding on to this, the season when the Rumbling started was Spring, so the sea level is significantly lower.

This comes from someone who's favourite TV show ever is AOT.
I think this is the worst episode in the series so far, I absolutely despised it even in the manga and it's also shit here, next week's episode is going to be shit again.
Sadly this part of AOT's got Naruto tier writing and that's not a compliment.
It was so bad I didn't even want to watch it, everyone in this season except Floch and Eren are annoying.

The transformation was really cool. The ODM scenes were great too, goes to show how much MAPPA have improved.

Story-wise - and I'll say this in the nicest way possible - I'm not a fan. Seeing Armin, Connie, and Mikasa side with the Marleyans to kill their Yeagerist comrades...what the hell happened to this story? It's like characters have completely lost their identity within a few episodes, entirely forgetting who caused so much pain to them in earlier seasons. I don't know, not really feeling this much. Hope it picks up in the next episodes.

  Of course they're meant to change, but when you spend 3 seasons fleshing out the aggressor and the victim's plight, then spend another further hammering how hateful said aggressor is (radicalizing children, holding Eldians in internment camps, and feeding a poor child of said ethnicity to the dogs), I can't help but understand where the Yeagerists are coming from. I am aware that the Eldia's vow to renounce war happened because of their belligerence towards Marley, as the author seems to hint at the cycle of humanity self-sabotaging itself through infighting.
  Due to the way the story was told, however, I harbor no sympathy towards Marley. If the author had dedicated more time portraying them in a more positive light, perhaps my opinion of them would have been different. As it stands, though, the cycle of violence seems to be a fixture of that universe. Doing the right thing, regardless of where you stand - especially in these circumstances - seems to be a quite steep change of pace from the AoT I'd known. The Hange genocide talk last episode I found outright comical. To each his own, though. It's worth appreciating that AoT encourages these kinds of discussions.

I don't agree. Hanji's decision to kill her own countrymen isn't a lack of consistency but a sign that solving this issue in a peaceful manner is impossible at this point, and it's human to make difficult, even contradictory choices, when what most matters to you is about to be wiped away or destroyed.

The animation looked so bad. Most of the characters had something like 3-4 frames when they were moving, and even then their movement was so incredibly clunky.

Did certain people even watch the episode? Talk about not understanding the story at all, they had to kill their friends and y'all are like, "yawn, worst episode ever." And whoever thinks the animation was bad is just plain wrong. Did you see Annie and Reiner or are you just blind? Some of y'all take this anime and its makers for granted and it shows.

I thought this was a great episode that had a lot of food for thought. Mainly the "would you kill your friends to save the world" bit. I really liked when Annie and Reiner transformed and shared that look, like whew flashbacks! Also when Magath broke Yelena's arm, 10/10 satisfying, if only they'd do the same to Floch but more.

(Guys, ignore Astrichy in the replies, they've already read the manga so they know what happens in the end, they're just commenting to cause chaos)

- why giving a 10/10 (or any notes) to a show that isn't even finished ? I mean I can understand for a show like one piece, but AoT ?

It kind of feels like a "good guys win bad guys lose" kind of situation like when Floch decided not to shoot at the last second and he got pinned to the ground. Also in this universe if I'd be a Walldian I'd 100% be a Jägerist, so watching it like that it makes it even worse. Also, idk why would any Walldian want to stop the Rumbling, fuck the whole world, I'm not saying the Rumbling is neccesarily right but be real, if you'd be in AOT's universe would you ever want to stop the Rumbling instead of saving your family, your friends and every person you've ever known? If your answer is yes I highly doubt you're telling me the truth. Also, as I've said, them wanting to stop the Rumbling makes zero sense, I fucking hate all of them, I didn't hate Armin before this episode, but now I'm kinda sad Eren didn't just beat the shit out of him so much that he'd have to regenerate for 3 months before being able to walk again. Killing your own friends to save the world that wants you dead. Yeah, makes total sense. (Btw I like the ending except the reverse UNO shit, if it would have been left out the ending would have also been a much better but these 2 chapters is the low point in the manga for me, it's like 5 points worse than anything AOT I've ever seen or read)

Basically, her ideology right now is that it is better to sacrifice a rather small portion of people she likes in order to save many others. If you ask me, thats some good writing there. Or just look at how she looks at Eren in s4p1, while he is killing many innocent people and children. If someone knows what it is to feel genocide, it is these people. So obviously some of them would be against it. Sometimes I feel like I haven't watched the same anime as others. And besides, is it really that weird for you that some people would be agains genocide? It only makes sense that some would be for it and some against it, thats 100% how it would look like if it were to be in the real world.
  I can totally understand Eren for his actions, he just wants to protect the people he loves. But at the same time our main cast is also 100% understandable.
  Yeah maybe some people they know will die in the future, but does that make literally all of the world dying better? Do they not have family? Thats how our main cast is thinking and why they are against the rumbling, trying to find a different solution.

The whole point of the plan was to avoid conflict which inevitably failed which led to them being forced to kill their former friends. The only reason they joined up with the Marleyan's is because both wanted to stop the rumbling because it went against their ideals, so joining up with a group that had the same goals as them is logical. Also the whole point of the last few episodes and ep 68 was to show how Armin and co finally understood WHY the walls were breached.

Another thing to note is that they were never Yeagerists in the first place. Mikasa was outright shown that she was against joining them, Armin and Connie wouldn't either and ep 83 proved that Jean couldn't bring himself to do so. After their plans failed them killing the yeagerists was no different than them killing Kenny Squad in S3P1

I think Armin, Connie and Mikasa's actions are completely understandable. You say that they've lost their identity and have forgotten who caused them so much pain, but that's just not true. Of course they still know what marley did and remember all the pain they've caused but that's not a good enough reason to murder an entire population of mostly innocent people. It's because they've suffered so much that they can see that they don't want to bring this same suffering onto other people as well. They're trying to break this cycle of violence and destruction by not repeating the same mistake marley made by invading paradis.

However, it's a really complicated dilemma which has no right answer to solve all the problems. The actions of Eren and the Yaegerists are understandable as well but I think it's foolish to dismiss the viewpoint of Armin and the others just because it doesn't fit your stance on the conflict.

Perhaps it’s that I’m tired of this “morally incorruptible heroes save the world at the end “ trope, and given that I’m starting to see signs of it here, I’m becoming slightly jaded at these turns of events. It’s all too convenient for Magath to plead for the Eldians to help him prevent the extinction of his nation, and of course our heroes go with that idea just fine. Even though he’d have had no problem at all to completely wipe out Paradis a season ago.
I’ve been spoiled the ending after the manga ended, and I guess I can understand how things progress up to that point. Thing is, Isayama framed this story very clearly to show Eldia’s troublesome existence: being a victim solely because of having being birthed there, To that end, it’s why Eren is so exciting to watch. The shift in focus focus on all these morally pure, untainted characters attempting to save the world has a kind of fairytale-ish tinge I wasn’t expecting from AoT. Could be just me though.

Point is she was a psycho that was more than willing to kill/torture multiple people, then turned into a 8 year old "killing is not the answer", then went back into her old self "we just need to get it done, I don't care how many lives are lost on the way" persona. That's what bothers me the most, consistency of the story, not the moral dilema.

Yeah, they were individuals who were also terrible people AND were trying to kill them first. And their first plan was to get 0 people killed on either side of the conflict, they didn't immediately barge into the port and started killing the Yeagerists.
  And again, killing soldiers who WANT to kill you isn't the same as innocent people getting crushed to death, and besides, the Yeagerists were trying to kill Hanji in the very first episode anyways. You cant compare a literal fucking genocide to killing enemy soldiers.

However, history proves it otherwise, humanity does and will do anything for the sake of survival, you would probably support the yeagerists, there is like a 95% chance of it. They care about the island, but they don’t care that it will be put in jeopardy by stopping the rumbling because they want to save the lives of billions of people, who the series has just spent an entire season showing that they are not devils, so after they would stop the rumbling they would look for other solutions, but they cannot take genocide as that solution.

Well, you clearly haven't read the manga so I'm not going to spoil it for you. That said, there's a path to peace or at least armistice being made, as shown in the campfire talk and Magath's apology. The alliance is there to show that both sides can eventually be at peace and even cooperate with each other, it's actually really important and I don't understand how you fail to see that. Did you ever consider what happens when everyone outside of the island dies? As the Azumabito said, it's only going to make their world smaller, as they lose valuable knowledge and diversity. Try taking a literature class sometime, maybe you'll learn how to analyze better. Maybe read Dr. Stone, it's actually quite similar and your tiny closed mind could open up a bit.

  It's not a matter of "AoT failing to meet my high expectations" because I didn't have any high expectations to begin with. With that episode AoT failed to meet even my lowest expectations, the whole episode was so rushed that it was extremely rare to even find a character who was drawn properly in the entire 20min runtime of the episode. Also this has nothing to do with myself, you said...

  ...and I am providing some examples were the animation was, indeed, bad. They where also taken from multiple scenes whereas your only "counterargument" to that was a single scene, that Annie and Reiner transformation scene which was not even that great to begin with. But even if it was, that doesn't excuse the other 99% percent of the episode. A single slightly above average scene does not excuse dozens of bad ones.

  Yeah, but... that's the problem...? It's not like those scenes happen during action sequences with lots of motion or something. Those are scenes where characters are just talking with the only movement being their mouths going up and down and with some slight hand gestures. Some of those scenes even stayed on screen for several seconds while remaining pretty much the same as you see here. If an anime can't even have scenes like these ones without the animation completely falling apart, then that's much more of a problem imo than a random freeze-frame looking weird during an intense and fast moving action scene.
  Also actual good animation was pretty much non-existent in this ep apart from that Reiner-Annie scene. What I'm saying here is that at the very least I expected "normal" looking characters and art from an episode with barely any actual animation and we didn't even get that. There was nothing in this ep animation-wise to excuse such disappointing shots and scenes.
