Okay, so this episode had some problems that I can't help but mention. The soundtrack during the titan fighting and the ODM action scenes was unbalanced. It was all fine until the lyrics kicked in and absolutely drowned the character voices. This could be a synchronization problem. It felt like what you'd see in an AMV from YouTube.

Edit: I was slightly wrong. The soundtrack is actually good. The real problem is the volume of it. They should've lowered the soundtrack in certain scenes because the ODM noises came out as muffled because of how loud the music was. No more complaints other than that. ODM animation was beautiful (thank god MAPPA for no CGI like S4P1) and the shading of the background is awesome just as I had guessed in the last episode.

It's hard to top the previous episode, dare I say impossible. That's why this episode doesn't look that great compared to what we saw last week. Last week we finally got a glimpse inside Eren's mind after not seeing him in action for long. And this one is more about the other characters like Gabi and Jean. Good, I guess, not the best or anything impressive in this episode.

Yeah, this is an obvious Gabi:Eren parallel. Personally, I don't like this at all. It just does not make sense to me. Ymir:Eren is a better parallel to me than Gabi:Eren and it makes more sense to me as well, they are both slaves to something, Ymir is to Fritz and Eren is to his fate. The only thing I see Gabi having in common with Eren is how they both were annoying, screamed a lot, and are very stubborn.

Didn't watch the episode and maybe you are right but I have never believed a Floch stan for obvious reasons.

Not a Floch stan, I just like characters with good motivations just like Erwin. "Floch king/chad" is a meme to piss off all the AoT fans failing to look beyond the surface level and understand his character.

    Erwin literally led a suicide charge all for the sake of the future of Eldia. He got hundreds of scouts killed. He stands atop a mountain of dead bodies, he agrees that he is a devil, and he did all that for the sake of Eldia, and you're telling me you like Erwin but not Floch? Alright man, you are hilarious. Have fun I guess.

The OST they used for the titan fight was also used in titan fights in seasons 1 and 2 so idk how it didn't fit

I have watched seasons 1 and 2 a long time ago so my memory is hazy, which scenes are you talking about? Can you refer me to them?

    The start of the OST is the only thing I faintly remember, must be one of my least favorite OST because it's not in my playlist.
    In the episode, it was clashing with sounds of the ODM gear, explosions, and characters shouting. It became worse when the lyrics started. I just think they should've gone with any other OST, or maybe this might've been an audio balancing problem. One of the two.

    OH THE HISTORIA-YMIR SCENE? That was awesome. See I really believe something went wrong with the audio balancing because unlike that scene, where the character voices and grunts were louder than the music, in the episode the music was drowning the character voices and ODM gear noises.

Yeah they used the OST for the season 1 nostalgia, they also used the exact same Wit's ODM animation sequence (but only once) for nostalgia. Basically they intentionally made ODM scenes in a way to resemble season 1

If they used this soundtrack, I really want them to reuse "Call Your Name". I don't know how will they incorporate it into the anime, but I need to hear it. We need some of that "Ike, Eren" energy back, although I don't think it will happen anymore cause...

  Call your name is great! I would have never expected them to use Barricades either, but it happened anyway, so who knows they somehow incorporate "Call your name" too xD.
  As for me I would love to hear either Vogel im kafig, or T-kt, which might happen, given the kind of ending it is.

Honestly I disagree with most of the stuff here. First off anyone who likes floch should have their opinion invalidated but anyways.

I personally felt the sound mixing was fine, if you go back to earlier seasons the music always gets loud during the eventful moments.

Also I don't get the CGI hate personally but yeah the animation was probably the best so far out of every mappa episode.

Also how is Gabi/Eren not a good comparison? Since season 4 pt 1 people have been saying gabi is like if eren was born on the side of the marleys. Plus Ymir is basically a slave and I don't see Eren as one, they both give off different stories. I think the Gabi comparison works much better.

The part where Mikasa saved Yelena was little disappointing. In manga it was like this. I was waiting for that window scene animated :,) sigh

But they made Mikasa look hot and badass in this episode so I forgive them (シ )シ.

  It does look great no doubt but I did imagine this the scene a little bit differently, but it really doesn't matter in the end. Mappa has been doing great job nonetheless.

i can't tell if the squad is on eren's side or not; are they helping him in his plan? are they killing the titans to protect each other? are the eldians in marley gonna die too?

also, why are we siding with gabi all of a sudden? does she agree that there has been too much bloodshed and that people shouldn't be called monsters?

is reiner too weak to fight? what's going to happen to annie; is she joining eren or going to fight against him? will her and reiner fight alongside each other?

very good episode, felt too short once it was done. i can't wait to see more. if anyone wants to discuss my questions, feel free to! when i enjoy something a lot, i ask a lot of questions and theorize.

Gotta love the double standard with Gabi and Annie, how everyone mindlessly hates Gabi for killing a fan-favorite character but still loves Annie for more or less doing the same with dozens of scouts in season 1. Ya'll are dumb
