When I was watching episode 5 of this season I noticed that Marleyan soldiers from 2000 years ago were wearing Roman helmets.

In real life, the Roman Republic was at war with Iranian empires from 54 BC to 628 AD ( source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman-Persian_Wars ), so, it started about 2000 years ago.
Another thing that happened 2000 years ago in Iran was the migration of Aryans ( source: https://iranologie.com/the-history-page/the-land-of-iran-… ) "Linguistically, Iran means the land of the Aryans, the eastern branch of Indo-Europeans. A group of Aryans (or Indo-Iranians) who migrated to the Iranian plateau around 2000 BCE from Central Asia".
I've seen some people saying the Eldian race is an analogy for Nazis but I don't think that's quite right, I think the Eldian race is an analogy for the Aryan race, Aryans migrated to Iran 2000 years ago the same way Eldians migrated to wherever Ymir's village was 2000 years ago, and they fought Marleyans who look very much like the Romans the Iranian empire fought.
Also, Eldians look kind of similar to ancient Iranians.

Yeah maybe, but what we do know is that current Eldian names are very germanic. Anyways, they're in upside down Africa so does this historical accuracy stuff even matter?
It's not really a matter of historical accuracy, it's just fun to figure out how Isayama took inspiration from real life events.
If you think hard enough you can find all sorts of easter eggs in all sorts of places
Your theory seems reasonable. Isayama takes inspiration from everywhere. But I don't think that all Eldians are Iranians. There was probably a bunch of different ethniities. You said that you don't think that Eldians are inspired by Nazis but I do think that Isayama took many ideas from them. And another argument for me would be that our characters have mostly German names. I mean just the name "Ackermann" means someone who works in the fields. He was probably taking inspiration from the Iranian history but added it with German or at least Europeen characters.
The Aryan connection is a far bigger stretch than the position that the Eldian's most resemble the Germens. The Romans also came into conflict with Germen tribes and the tribe of Edlia as well as the tribe Ymir came from most resembles the real world conflict that the Roman empire had with those said tribes.

This actually makes a lot of sense, the conflict between Romans and Germans dates back to 113 BC, just like how the Eldians and Marleyans were in conflict prior to 2000 years ago.
And the Roman-Germanic wars went on for centuries until 596 AD, just like how the Eldians and Marleyans were at war for centuries.
Perhaps I was wrong.
