Firstly, I just finished reading the volume just now and I'm super glad that you made this thread. I was gonna make it if there wasn't one XD

This volume easily sits in one of my fav volumes for COTE thus far. Others include, Year 1 volumes 7, 10, 11.5 and few others.
The drama here was absolutely superb. I was a bit shocked that Horikita protected Kushida, tho I could understand her reasoning for it. Then, I was like, so... they're planning to run the time out and lose 300 points then? But then Kiyo shows up and namedrops Airi. Plot twist. Heartbreak. The exchange in which Kiyo was convincing everyone to expel Airi, just reminded me of how heartless Kiyo actually is. And don't get me started on Haruka TT . It was reaaally heartbreaking to see her shout and desperately try to protect Airi like that. All in all, I do agree with Airi being expelled as I could understand why, but....ahhh stfu and just expel Kushidaaa.

I also like how Kiyotaka's true nature is being shown more to his classmates. Gets me rly hyped every time Kiyo does smth like that, like when he almost beat Manabu in the race at the sports festival

Favourite moment...more like most memorable moment would of course be from the point Horikita protected Kushida until when Airi was finally expelled. Heartbreak, heartless and mindblown

One of my most fav special examss, bc I like that the concept is simple but very impactful compared to the likes of the uninhabited island exam. The exam was soo simple yet sooo heartbreaking and dramatic.

Sorry, not sure abt predictions but I'm really looking forward to it!!
How will the Ayanokouji Group be like? Will Kushida finally submit and turn a new leaf? Will Kushida be a useful pawn for Kiyo? Does the class resent Horikita for protecting Kushida? How will everyone react to Kiyo now that they a saw a bit of his hearless personality? Many more questions I rly want to see in the next volume.

Edited: Reading haruka's short story was also very heartbreaking TT

and the only big problem I had with this volume, was that Kiyo didn't give Airi a proper goodbye. He could've at least talked a bit more with Airi in their last and final meeting

Honestly, I liked Airi's expulsion, because I am a supporter of meritocracy. I agree it is interesting that Kiyotaka's true colors are being shown to his classmate. I think it was Yukimura that told Kiyotaka that he did not know if Kiyotaka made the right decision? I look forward to seeing how the situation will be in the next volume. Kushida literally dropped everyone's secret, so it will be interesting if they can find together.

I really enjoyed the exam from Class C's perspective [Ryuuen] I really like his character and that he read people. Also, the way he outsmarted that guy really blew my mind. To be honest, I thought more people were against Ryuuen as a leader, but seems like his entire class supports him.

Kanzaki was the first person to step up within Class B, but quickly stepped back, because everyone was opposed to his idea. So it will be interesting how he will act in the future.

I feel like Kushida's breakdown happened a bit too quickly? Like it felt like she had the edge in that discussion, but suddenly said, why, why, why? And revealed everything. I always thought that the fingerprints would be brought up at some point considering how often it got brought up, but then it was just included in some few lines? Though, I really do like the concept of her splitting the entire class up.

I really look forward to the next volume to see how Kinusaga will handle it. I know it is near impossible to predict anything. The synopsis itself is interesting. I have seen some images for the next volume in the first years, so we know they will play a role. I really hope that the third years will play a role as well.

can't say I disagree with ur opinion on Sakura's explusion since, I think that was the best decision in order to rise to class A. though, my heart says 'iya daaa!!!'
lmaooo, Ryuuen absolutely floored him. and yeah, that's one of the things that make him a very likeable character. after he bounced back from his defeat in V7, I think his decisions and planning (more like scheming XD ) got better...just my opinion tho xP
yeahhh, I totally get you, Kushida was like on a roll when she suddenly broke down like that...maybe, Kinusaga should've made Kiyotaka win the argument slowly instead of him just offloading a bomb to kill Kushida off instantly.
I think the fingerprints part was short bc Kiyotaka like instantly killed off the accusation with that science proof of his. can't argue with good ol science.
Though, I really do like the concept of her splitting the entire class up.
when all hell breaks loose lmaoo. yup, it's interesting to see how the class will interact afterwards especially if she managed to leak a few more big secrets. tho this time she only let loose a few.

  Probably true. Also, Kushida is not the best with mind games, etc. So it is kind of realistic but still felt disappointing in all honesty. There was just so much build-up to that moment that I thought the conclusion was a bit <i>meh</i> but I still really enjoyed the exam and their discussion.
  Kushida is still in their class, so she can cause more trouble/to tell more secrets if she wants. Also, I think many of the students despise her after she revealed their secrets. Horikita was the one that made that decision, that they would not expel Kushida, but seems like many were opposed to it because from the synopsis it seems like there is an opposition rising against Horikita, so it will be quite interesting.

  That is likely Kushida? Also, she told everyone that Wang likes Yosuke. Don't remember how Yosuke reacted at that moment, but she is among one of the absents, so seems like we will get a lot of delightful moments.
  Actually, is Kiyotaka going to be taking part in the sports festival? I remember he discussed with Sakayangi about being absent during it. And a few of the promotional materials for the volume have been inside Kiyotaka's room.

    yeahh, the uprising against Horikita is really intruiging especially since the culture and sports festival are coming up. gotta unite ur class fast Horikita XD
    and yeah, the other classmates would surely be pissed with Kushida, but I hope she becomes useful for rising to class A
    and actually, I could rly understand why Kinusaga would ditch Sakura instead of Kushida, bc, well, we wouldn't be able to discuss abt this if Kushida was expelled lol. keeping Kushida in the fray, (even tho hated by a lot of readers) rly keeps the possibilities endless in how Kinusaga wants to twist the story. in conrast to keeping Sakura, which would be like...meh

    yeah, I think so. but it could be the emergence of another antagonist from their class? Haruka maybe? instead of blaming Kiyotaka, she opts to blame Horikita, the instigator to Kiyotaka being forced to expel Sakura. well, that's just a possibility. but I still think it's prolly Kushida. It's gonna be some twist if it turns out to not be her.

    I'm pretty sure it was just stated that he looked shocked. but I think Wang'll come along sooner or later since I think she's just too shy to be in class. Maybe she'll hit off with Yosuke? but I actually don't think she's Yosuke's type lmao. I think the prospects of Kushida and Haruka not coming to class is more interesting.
    Actually, is Kiyotaka going to be taking part in the sports festival?
    Sakayanagi asked him to sit it out but I'm pretty he said that he still needs time to consider it. So, nothing's set in stone abt that yet.
