It seemed like a dream, but it’s clear many days had passed and I’e notices writing on his bench saying “see you later”, which are the words Natsune used before.
I think it’s up to the reader to interpret how it’s possible but to me, I assume those two have transcended being normal life forms and communicated somehow with I’e in his delusional state. They were locked up with semitelepathic aliens for a good while after all.
On the other hand, you could assume I’e was just delusional the whole time and imagined the writing on the bench or wrote it himself, but I don’t think that’s the case.
