Depends on the person I guess, the things Musashi goes through and the way he grows as a person is something you need to be a little more mature to relate to.

  i've found the series very entertaining and liked how it wasn't only about fighting it's also filled with many great characters, character journey, philosophy and like real themes (value of life, hypocrisy, inferiority and superiority complex)

Yeah I think so too. Many would find it boring, especially the Farming arc.
Philosophical stuff don't appeal to a 12 year old imo.
I'd say about 16.

Honestly, the fact that that your 12 and you have doubts on whether you'd appreciate pieces of media says a lot about your maturity.
I've not read Vagabond myself, however I have heard that it is very philosophical and beyond ourselves, so if you feel like you can get a hold of deep philosophy in general, I'd say its worth a shot.
But then again, i could just be talking out of my ass so ¯\\(ツ)/¯

doesn't really matter, nothing is restricted to a specific age demographic unless its literally age restriced, but then again there are 8 year olds more mature than adults in this world.
it doesn't matter, any age can enjoy it, but since it is seinen those in the targeted demographic are more likely to enjoy it.

as a lot of people are saying it depends on how mature you are not your age. i read this when i was 13 and i was able to grasp the concepts pretty well.

It's jokes this kid got banned but it's also kind of concerning that anyone in this thread thinks a 12 year old should be reading Vagabond. The series is full of sexual violence and good old regular violence which are hardly suitable or beneficial for a kid to be seeing.

    There's an insanely huge difference between gore and violence like saw and the sexual violence depicted in Vagabond. Honestly, the former is probably fine but the latter definitely shouldn't be shown to kids. As for the porn, it's hardly uncommon for young kids to be watching but that doesn't mean that it's okay and it definitely has implications for how they develop.
