  i always thought it was because dororo had a very important part on hyakkimaru's journey, especially in the anime adaptation.
  Dororo was a huge part of making sure in the end, hyakkimaru didnt turn into a monster but came out of his "cave" as a human. Im p sure they talked about this with the monk

  According to what I've heard. The original story had the twist that Dororo was made with the parts that Hyakkimaru got taken, which would lead to a tragic finale, and that's why they changed it.

  Maybe coz it's easy to pronounce "dororo" father than "hyak-ki-maaru"

  Idk if you still want to know but its because Dororo sounds like Dorobo in Japanese meaning thief and that's what dororo was called when he was bullied.

  Wikipedia said that Tezuka’s childhood friends pronounced doboro (thief) as dororo, which I think corresponds to how Hyakkimaru got robbed of almost everything when he’s a baby. Basically, I think the title relates to Hyakkimaru instead of Dororo
