Hey champ. That’s really interesting! Next time, keep it to yourself.
Shirou is a fucking piece of shit, and rin becomes more of a piece of shit with every episode for liking and putting up with him. So I wanna know: are therr actual living human beings who like this garbage character? I hope not, but if there are any, please explain how. This whole plot point about shirou putting others above him is also 1000% bullshit, he keeps making everyone around him almost die, how is that valuing others? Almost every bad thing that has happened so far is at least 50% on him. God damnit I'm almost dropping this bc this pos is making me mad af.
Hey champ. That’s really interesting! Next time, keep it to yourself.
I don't think he's a shit character, he's kinda generic, that's all.
No one cares
Lol, imagine hating one of the most well written characters in the series
Hes not one of the best well writing there but thats not because he's bad/mid writing, fate(vn) just got the best cast out there.
U ok sir?

I'm stealing this meme
not an our problem if you weren't able to understand a single stuff of Fate

He's actually well-written (not one of the best), but he's also fucking annoying.
well thats kinda the point, hes supposed to have conflicts with his ideologies
but isn't he supposed to change from the shit that derives from that? During caster's trap back from the date, he makes saber stop midfight, which allows caster to steal her (sure, he didn't know that was a thing, but she'd have died otherwise) and gets everyone involved there in trouble. This scene is absurd not only because he is a dumbass here, but because everyone else DOESNT get pissed at him and actually admires him afterward. Why?
Then when Illya's getting killed, rin tries to stop him and begs him to do nothing, he still yells at gilgamesh, which of course doesn't come close to saving Illya and could easily kill not only him but rin as well. And rin gets pissed at him because "he doesn't put himself first", not "because he could have killed her". Which means she is actually the same, but one degree higher on the retarded list.
Then how does he grow from those 2 failures? "I regret nothing, lol!"
In other words the problems here are:
1 - no actual change/learning from mistakes.
2 - what he does and what the anime says he does are not the same: he doesn't put others above himself, he puts whoever is in immediate danger above him AND everyone else. The anime tries to put it as being idealist v realist. But he is not an idealist trying to do his best and get the best results despite bad odds, he's just a dumbass that does whatever (agreeing to give his command seals to caster/ making saber stop in front of her ISN'T trying to be a hero, it's giving up and hoping for mercy and honor from whom he thinks is a power hungry mass murderer, all the while making said mass murderer more capable of reaching her goals)
Shirou is extremely annoying and I hate his character
but he isn't a "garbage character"

I don't know, could be russian bots hitting those likes or smth
or maybe it could just be 2.7k people who actually like him
I mean he's fucking ripped,he's kind, can cook me delicious food, and would clean the house. I would 100% fight Rin for him.
yeah, but the way he believes obvious lies from that abusive, violent, rapist, capable of attempting mass-murders shinji, and does whatever the dude asks, you'd have to hope that shin doesn't have a thing for dude legs as well.
Stupid character
He is a beta male
Honestly sometimes he's ok, but he completely ruins UBW, he's especially bad in the second season. That I agree with
It's not that he's a bad character, UBW is just making him bad.
It is the weakest route after all
You're not alone pal, I hate him too, yes I really hate him
I understand the whole ideologies thingy but everyone in this series should stop spoiling him rotten like a brat he is. His ideologies backfired big time but he just brushed it off just because he 'wants' to save some unknown people but not his closest. Ironic lmao
He's well-written in an annoying way I guess
Archer tries to knock some senses in his blank head sad that it's not what happened in this story
No one cares + no one asked ur shitty opinion + shirou >>>>
aizomi

people cant really change that easily lol, but yes i do kinda do understand your problems this show is by no means perfect or as even as good as the fans make it out to be tho a enjoyable watch
also you should try watching the heavens feel trilogy his ideologies go through massive changes there so you might like that
2 - what he does and what the anime says he does are not the same: he doesn't put others above himself, he puts whoever is in immediate danger above him AND everyone else.
thats the point tho, the anime is intentionally making his decisions go the wrong way in order for ideology clashes that the whole anime is about
The anime tries to put it as being idealist v realist. well thats what being an extreme idealist is tho lol i mean what do you think an idealist would do in that situation?
also you're getting too much hate just for making this post
people cant really change that easily lol
He could try though, he could act sorry for the other people he screwed over, and then if he did the same thing again it would be because "people can't change easily". And it's not just him doing stupid shit that gets me, it's that everyone else acts like he is being good. They should stop saying "you should care about yourself" and say somethign like "you say you care about others but what about me? you fkd me up there"
what do you think and idealist would do in that situation?
He could try to solve it somehow. And it could be either in a dumb way or a smart way, trying to brute force his way, or trying to trick caster or something.
Instead he decided to give in and make an atrocious and powerful enemy even more powerful. That's not trying to be a hero, that's not "biting more than he can chew", that's not trying to do the impossible, that's giving up agency, giving up everything.
And whatever an idealist would do in that situation, it surely would not be betraying his partner forcefully making her immobile in front of an opponent, who the idealist himself had previously decided to kill, and got pissed at someone else for not killing.
When rin made a plan that hanged on her being able to solo caster, that was more like being an idealist. She wasn't compromising, she wasn't sacrificing others, she wasn't making excuses to save herself, she didn't have good odds, but it was either that or giving up, either that or "being a realist" and avoiding the fight and making a plan to salvage what she could. Shirou himself has a few moments like that, but many are nowhere near it.
also you are getting too much hate
Thanks! I did expect it though, i wrote the OP pissed and it is pretty shit-posty
He could try though, he could act sorry for the other people he screwed over, and then if he did the same thing again it would be because "people can't change easily".
i cant really remember much so i might be wrong he did act sorry when the white haired loli died
They should stop saying "you should care about yourself" and say somethign like "you say you care about others but what about me? you fkd me up there"
i mean they would just be an asshole at that point
He could try to solve it somehow. And it could be either in a dumb way or a smart way, trying to brute force his way, or trying to trick caster or something.
shirou isnt really that smart so few of the options are out of the question, but he isnt dumb enough to not know that brute forcing his way wouldn't work cause he doesnt really have any power
Instead he decided to give in and make an atrocious and powerful enemy even more powerful. That's not trying to be a hero, that's not "biting more than he can chew", that's not trying to do the impossible, that's giving up agency, giving up everything.
well maybe not on the viewers view or even the other characters but for him it most likely is
And whatever an idealist would do in that situation, it surely would not be betraying his partner forcefully making her immobile in front of an opponent, who the idealist himself had previously decided to kill, and got pissed at someone else for not killing
his ideology was kinda supposed to be full of contradiction like you said in your next point so this cant really be taken as a valid criticism
Just adding one more thing, if it truly was about his idealogies contradictions, and his problem there was that he wanted to save the teacher, as well as save saber and rin, and he couldn't figure out how, then he could you know, freeze. I think that'd be a pretty human reaction, not knowing what to do and being stuck there unable to take action.
again im not saying this show is some sort of masterpiece that has the most well written and realistic protag of all time, far from it,the anime is a 7/10 at best it does have quite a few faults but that does not mean its bad
what do you think an idealist would do in that situation?

But no, he does take action, which to betray his two companions that are beside him and help the person who he thinks is about to destroy the whole city.
