I'm getting hooked sooo much in season 1 and I'm scared of the letdown in later arcs...
SchmarminAug 3, 202125 replies822 viewsI just watched 3 episodes but this anime is like crazy good, literally has the potential to become my favourite anime ngl. Now I heard terrible things about season 2 and also not as great things about the later chapters in the manga. My plan is to skip season 2 immediately and go straight to the manga. This a good plan?

The manga final arcs are generally disliked but you could still like them yourself. On the other hand, there is no way you could enjoy anything about season 2 because it is objectively bad and it spoils everything about the manga, so definitely skip it.

The further you are in the story, the worse it gets, but it's still "fine". Whatever you do, don't watch the second Season tho

Haven't read the manga but I can say that that second season took away 11 episodes (maybe 8 since the first 3 were alright) worth of my time that I could've spent on other bad animes.

Yes,It's a good plan.But the manga final arc wasn t that good either,but it's at least better than Promise Neverland season 2

Opinions can be different, the only "bad" thing about the season 2 is that the story-telling changes in a mojor way in order to end the anime in 12 episodes, the anime is pretty good regarding the other aspects, you can just read the manga after watching it.
If you really need help on choosing Wich alternative you shall follow you must simply think if u prefer watching it or reading it, hope i helped.

Yeah, that's right. It skips a lot of the manga, so I would recommend just reading the manga.

season 2 soiled my desire to read the manga, so i'd say definitely go straight to the manga after season 1

The manga (Jailbreak Arc) is awesome, and season 1 is a great adaptation. If u choose to go the manga way u getting a good story a lot more character arcs and fundamental lore behind the world they live in, with a decent ending. If u go the season 2 route u get dog shit. Hope this helps :)

also, some added special chapters actually make it better than a decent ending, still a bit rushed.

I'd say don't watch or read anything else so you don't ruin what you think of it. Season 1 is brilliant but you can't compare it to the rest

That's what I was kind of thinking too. Because the story as is now is obviously not finished but if I would stop here I would still be satisfied and I have very hiiigh expectations regarding the whole world building in the future of the story. Who are those demons, where did they come from, do humans even live outside the farms, how does live outside farms generally look? Since many people say the manga is "fine" I kind of feel like it all of this won't be covered and what's even worse is that I'm not really a manga guy.
Only manga's I read are AoT and currently Tokyo Ghoul because I actually loved season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul but seasons 2-4 are terrible.
Just with how everyone's acting about the manga I think it'll kill my hope about how the story could evolve into something insanely great.

Tokyo ghoul manga is straigh heat. If you liked season 1 you will definitely love the manga (also I didn't think season 2 was that bad but i get it)

The series as a whole sucks after the first arc (S1) whether it's anime or manga, because it just completely changes its genre and becomes a generic action shounen with the power of friends bullshit.

Please never watch Season 2. Just read the manga after Season 1, because Season 2 skips entire arcs and over 80 chapters, and it would spoil big moments in the most stupid way possible.
In my opinion, all the manga arcs are amazing and I even really liked the ending.
