I would say it starts getting better at volume 3 and starts getting really good at volume 4
I've been reading through the first volumes of CotE, currently 4 chapters into the 2nd volume, and I was wondering if anyone else experienced not being that interested this far. Maybe it's because I watched the adaptation first, but it just seems really slow. I've heard so many good things about the series and seen the overwhelming mean score, but does this pace pick up, and is it far better in later volumes than what it is now?
I would say it starts getting better at volume 3 and starts getting really good at volume 4
Don't worry, this happened to me too since I watched the anime before. From volume 4 on, you will notice that the reading starts to get much faster because the story becomes more and more attractive
id say the reason being that youve watched the anime and this whole 3 vol will feel like a recap but vol 4 is where you wont find pacing a problem
I haven't watched the anime, but I too faced the same problem while reading Classroom of the Elite.
In fact, I had pretty much dropped the series on around the same part you are at (half way through volume-2).
I later picked the series up after a cousin of mine exceedingly complimented it.
And I'd say it was bad for me drop it without finishing the 2nd volume;
the series does get extremely catching and addicting the further you progress.
Except the writing (where it has the general problem of most Light Novels in a very apparent manner), the story I can say is quite good as far as I have read (volume 5 including volume 4.5).
It’s a little slow at first but once you get to vol. 3-4 you’ll enjoy it more from then on
I think volume 4 is where it truly and reaches some really high levels at volume 7+
Yeah it starts off a bit slow, especially if you watched the anime beforehand, having Ayanokouji act more ¨human like¨ is definetely weird for a bit, anyways at around volume 4 it starts to draw you in and volume 6+ is when the real fun starts.
Yeah I noticed that Ayanokouji seems like a normal dude while in the anime he's this "badass mysterious cool loner" so I'm excited to see what happens
yeah, i prefer him in the LNs over the anime
