why is studio deen fate is bad and should i watch it?

  It's optional if you wanna watch it.

  It's bad because of its animations and it tries to jam all three routes into one series. It feels rushed if they do that.

    Well, it's 2 out of 3 routes - Unlimited Blade Works and Fate. It doesn't get too much into Heaven's Feel. It's worth watching because it errs more on the side of the Fate route (which is more focused on Saber) than it does on the UBW route (which is focused on Rin and on Archer's identity).

  It was rather beloved for years after it released. The meme about it being hated largely started happening around when Fate/Zero came out. It's not the best thing you'll see and there are some rather jank parts of it but if you like Fate its not a bad idea to watch it.

  Would have been fine if you watched it first. UBW and particularly Zero set the bar too high.

  i mean i watched it without knowing it was so hated. did enjoy but its definitely wonky at times.

  1. The story mainly covers the Fate route but also borrows elements from UBW and HF routes therefore spoiling them to some extent, especially HF. So it is recommended to watch Deen's Fate last, either after HF or Zero. I recommend UBW -> HF -> Zero -> Fate (Deen).
  2. The animation is rather low quality, especially compared to the god tier of ufotable animation.
  3. It features the worst, most annoying version of Shiro. He behaves much better in other routes and spinoffs but the Fate route version can really get on one's nerves.

  The Deen anime is still the only anime adaptation of the Fate route we have so it tells a unique story and completes Saber's story arc that has its chronological beginning in Fate/Zero. So yes, it's definitely worth watching.

  It doesn't feature the true ending from the Visual Novel called Realta Nua Last Episode, but you can watch that on YouTube to see the final conclusion to the story.

      Kara no Kyokai came out in 2007 and had the same quality as Fate/Zero.
      Other notable 2006 animes that still look very good by today's standards: Death Note, Code Geass, another Deen's anime: Higurashi, Haruhi Suzumiya and plenty other great looking anime from the same time period, Deen/Stay Night doesn't really have an excuse to look as bad as it does.

  Since you have completed zero, UBW and HF, you can't go wrong by watching Deen Stay/Night. It covers like 90% of the fate route and changes a few parts which are taken from UBW/HF. The change in on itself doesn't really have a huge impact on the story, it's just minor spoilers/hints for the other routes which you don't have to worry about anymore.

  Animation quality is pretty average even for 2006 but I won't say it's bad or distracting. Soundtrack is alright, it has some straight from the VN and some original. Anyways, you will be the best judge for that. The openings are banger at least.

  But if you like fate for it's story and characters then FSN has got you covered, it explores saber's character and story in depth which was not touched in other parts, even zero. Shirou's growth is also different than in UBW/HF as you probably have come to expect. But best of all, the feel and atmosphere of this part is more light and closest to what it was in the visual novel. So if you want to finish off all the parts of FSN then this is not a bad way to do it.
