RemovedJun 19, 202113 replies1K viewsi've read the amazing manga but these two first episodes physically hurt me. So I was wondering since it has an average rating of 64%, at the moment of writing, does it get good?

Just go for the manga, don't expect the anime to get good

Well the anime has potential just like a cup of tea it's just that we have a watered down cup of tea so I'm going to keep drinking and hope it gets better

The anime had a lot of potential, but it ended up being really bad. It's sad that they gave such a short amount of time to the animators and the studio. Despite not having neither good animation or direction, their job is kinda remarkable.

I won't argue because I can't I hate how if it continues it might end up ruining my favorite fight that is the reason I decided to continue. Jack vs Hercules is the reason I'm trying the anime and I'm going to hate it entirely if they ruin it.

I haven't read the manga but when I saw the awful animation quality of the second episode (because the high amount of static scenes, especially in the flashback of Thor against the giants) I lost faith in the show and was starting to feel disappointed. However, my opinion changed positively after watching next episodes. The last battle between Thor and Lu Bu was awesome and the next two battles were epic too.
The only thing I don't like of the anime (but I think is the same in the manga), are the changes of the real story of the characters that I find them absurd. Anyway, I must admit the battles kept me so hyped that I finished watching all the episodes in a row (something that I have done few times with animes) and I want to see the second season already.
Also, I haven't noticed an important amount of awful lazy animation scenes since the last battle of Lu Bu vs Thor and next episodes to ruin the show (or maybe I didn't pay much attention). But yeah, the second episode was really skippable.
Anyway, the animation is far of having the quality of Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, Fate UBW, One Punch Man (season 1), etc. But is far of being a disaster like Berserk 2016, One Ounch Man 2, Gokudolls or Muv Luv Alternative. Also, the character design wasn't bad to me. I even love the designs for Brunhilde and Odin.
Finally, I have noticed in the second half of the anime that every episode has a different new music during battles, and most of them sound epic. There was even one or two that reminded me to Two Steps From Hell. And that made battles more epic to me.
Anyway, this is just an opinion from somebody who haven't read the manga. Let's be honest, its not the same to experience a story for second time. I think is completely normal to don't feel excited watching the anime if you have read the manga before because you know what will happen in the story already, especially if the manga has an excellent graphic quality but the animation isn't at the same visual level as the animes I mentioned above.

No, not really. I would be extremely surprised if it didn't get a 2nd Season though, since it was one of the highest selling series in Japan for the past three years. Hopefully, either Graphinica gets their shit together and makes it as high quality as Hellsing Ultimate, or a different studio picks it up.
