From what I've seen, in Japanese bookstores you usually pick up the book from the bookshelf
And if you still have to say the name, you use the abbreviation, for example Tensura for Tensei Shitara... I know everyone knows that.But the reason for LN titles being so long is because they often debut first on a website called Let's Become a Novelist. It's basically Japanese wattpad. Since there are so many shitty novels there, people didn't bother to read the synopsis anymore so authors put the synopsis in the title. And that's why they're so long.

To be a little more specific for anyone who hasn’t been to a JP book store there are alot and I mean alot of Light novels. When a individual picks up a Light novel the cover and title are the first things that will stand out so having the general concept of the novel in the title is enough to interest a individual into the series if they have never heard of it.
I should also say the artist of the novel may interest someone into reading the series to. I personally am a big fan of kakao and this LN artwork and will read any work he draws.
Unlike overseas were we get a lot of times these very bleak and simple titles that don’t tell anything or noting at all without legitimately reading the back of the book to see what’s it’s about.
