So, just so we're clear, I've only watched the anime, so not talking about anything that may have happened post-eclipse.
With that said, for the most part, this anime gave me "edgier Naruto" vibes, with Guts wiggling his tail at the very perfect Griffith, being all "I'll make you respect and notice me!".
But then, when Griffith needed him the most, he was like "nah, bro, I'll just go for some self-searching instead, fuck you, I'm not helping", leaving Griffith betrayed, just when Griffith started to realize how much he needed his friend.
So honestly, fuck Guts, he brought everything on himself. Griffith is a betrayed and broken man. Guts leaving is what caused his fall and a bunch of stupid decisions that followed.
Obviously, Guts. I've never read Berserk but I know he is a way better character
