I don't think it proves anything. There is no credit because no one wants to take credit, that's all. If I took part in the production of such an anime I would ask the producer to remove me from the credit as well.

Well there is an upcoming live action series and a video game. If those end up being successful maybe we could get more animated content too, even if it’s just OVAs or something.

Bad adaptations are dime a dozen, while remakes are a rare occurrence. I'm not sure who in their right mind would put money in this franchise at the moment to be honest.
Not now, but in like 5 years ! Besides that, remakes are not a rare occurrence. Shaman King, Dai, FMA Brotherhood, Captain Tsubasa. All those animes got a remake.
Didn't watch season 2 but I still stand by the fact it should never have got a 2nd season. The way s1 ended didn't need to be added on and was perfectly fine as it is. If people were interested they would go read the source material and not have this shit fest happen.

Haven't finished the show yet, but just FYI this isn't something the studio can do anything about. The studio doesn't decide it wants to do this season.
What likely happened here, is that the Publisher of the Manga or some other company on the production committee commissioned a second season after the first did as well as it did and the Manga wasn't far enough along during the season's planning/production for them to be able to fully follow it.
That's likely the reason why the show goes anime original.
If you wanna get mad at someone for "disrespecting" the Manga (which I think is a bit of a ludicrous take tbh but to each their own), get mad at the publishers and the other companies high up on the production committee, not the studio.
