I'm just curious, but what exactly is it about the show that you despise?
But to answer your question, no, I did not despite FMA:B.

  It was so bad that you gave it a 0.1? That's looking a little suspect to me, chief. I definitely see what issues you may have with it based on your notes, and how they might diminish the viewing experience, but the very fact that you were able to finish it not only once but twice indicates that, at some level, you thought it was worth more than 0.1. I mean, if it was really a 0.1, you wouldn't have given it a second chance (or even finished it the first time, for that matter).

    I think my point still stands: the fact you even finished it the first time suggests you at least thought it was worth finishing, which, again, would indicate you thought a bit more of it than a 0.1.

I didn't despise it per se, but I certainly think it is HIGHLY over-rated. I think it being top three or whatever it is laughable. I think it is only that due to it being an introductory series that people look back on with rose-colored glasses. Plus, I hate this word, but it is true -- it is kind of a "normie" series. A lot of ppl who aren't necessarily "in" to anime/manga will end up checking out that series at one point. It is hard to get an objective measure of quality when you have nothing relative to compare it to.

I don't necessarily despise it, I just don't like it a lot, kuma. I gave it around a 4/10, but I still believe that's too high.

I definitely don't think the criticism comes from a genuine place. I mean, I am willing to contend that probably he doesn't like the show, but I think the '0.1/10' is a little dramatic. I'd cut him a little more slack if he gave it a 2 or a 1, but that is not the case. I almost get the impression that he is pushing back so much on it because he wants to be the guy that doesn't like FMA:B. After all, it's not uncommon for people to try and take up an identity by 'going against grain.'
But then again, I could be wrong. I often am.

I feel like Cowboy Bebop and FMAB are starting to get shit on a ton for the tiniest little complaints because people expect too much out of them. I agree that Winry is annoying and Ed's short jokes get annoying, but the majority of the characters are very dynamic and well written and serve the plot in unique ways. You say the plot is boring, and I think in certain parts I agree but overall I view it as one of the most fluid stories of all time, not to mention that belying the main plot is a really serious message about the long term effects of war and oppression. Father is one of my favorite villains of all time, Kimblee and Greedling also on a lot of peoples top lists. Alchemy is a bomb ass power system, the design and soundtrack are both fabulous. I just really don't understand giving it less than a 7/10 even if it isn't your "cup of tea"

It's overrated. solid 8 maximum. you also didn't give genuine reasons you don't like the show. you said you don't like winry, and you said you don't like ed complaining that he's short. If those factors are enough for you to give it a 1, go off I guess but that's just weird

Damn, I read your note on fmab.

I'm a greasy weeb who's seen an obscene amount (I think) of anime but I just cannot comprehend how someone can have so much hate for a cartoon, man. I find my weeb community generally nice but when I see shit like this where a person's entire identity is seemingly being defined by loving/hating a show, I can't help but cringe.

Sorry if I'm judging you too soon, you might be a perfectly normal, non-obsessive fan and this might all be satire, but this thread is kinda asking for me to judge you so.

  Hmm you probs hate the show cuz of the community around it then. The association thing, as you said. Maybe try separating that and the actual show itself in the next watch. I'm not a super big fan but def not a 1 haha.
